Mod reach, why not give everyone 2 Party hats sets, 2 Christmas cracker, and 1 untradeable Black/Rainbow partyhat along with every other untradables for Christmas. This will make everyone happy and no one can really hoard/merchant them? Just an idea I want to throw out. If you're going with the idea as in the OP then people will just hoard Partyhats and make their prices go to the millions which not every have so not every can have fun if they don't have the money to afford them. Also, 2 Christmas crackers isn't enough for a Partyhat set let alone 50% when pulling it on someone else. :/ Overall, it's a bad idea to NOT introduce Partyhats for this year Christmas event.

I agree, wouldn't want to miss out on the "main" part of a holiday event because I was too busy to log in last year to obtain party hats.
I feel like people will already be using that as an excuse to increase the prices, and once everyone starts cutting up party hat sets and not getting more in return then there will be less in circulation so the price will go up because of that anyways.

Going rate of a party hat set is what.. 1.5-1.7m? Some might see that as an investment if they're able to buy all of the sets they find, then take them out of circulation during the event by shredding them to make 1 rainbow hat. Can't imagine a rainbow colored item will be very popular, whereas solid ones are always appealing.

Honestly I believe to actually have rares in the game is a good thing. It gives people something to work towards. Its a status symbol. Big houses and nice cars drive people to become doctors ect. Something that can only be obtained with playing the game saving money and grinding. Its different than being able to just getting a lucky drop.

Every since I played this game a goal of mine was to get a party hat. knowing that only a select few has them pushed me into working towards that goal. Its different than just trying to get a level. Once you get one you want to work at getting another ect. I

People become doctors to help other people, not to become billionaires.

If you want an item to show off wealth, get third age. Holiday items are cosmetic amenities, ones that anyone should have access to.

Why not make a EP system that drops rewards for PK points? EP system makes the wilderness packed and helps prevent people from just teleporting because they wont want to lose their EP.

And have a PK shop with player ideas. and maybe recolors.

What about snow balls after the event? like it was in the 07 event

I'd like to keep them. Sadly, we don't have the snow globe as that came from 2007 event but we do have the snowballs you pelt at Gublinches during this Christmas event. I'm sure we can find a way for you to keep them and collect more afterwards if necessary.

I really like the idea on the rainbow party hat! I have always wanted to get one but i really think you should give out 2 of every rare like you did for Halloween. The reason people want to is for a place holder.

My opinion on the partyhats, I only have 1 because its my favorite color, but a rainbow one sounds cool.

Rares should have a chance to become rare and be common for the loyal people of old school runescape, so 3 years down the line rares should not be reintroduced.

If you are releasing each year it just makes them pointless bank space and give no stats.

Maybe do another poll on how players want rares to be done now that we are farther into the game.
