I'd like to encourage those not happy with the event to simply not participate in it as they can for all other in game events
Would you also say that if an event was hosted that opposes your political beliefs?
Regardless, please keep ALL politics out of this game! Or at the very least, poll it before developing!
Maybe I missed something but could you point to where politics came up in this event? Was there something about petitioning the government for same-sex marriage or something?
I know LGBT people of all political views. Most lesbians and gay men are quite conservative

When I used to think about OSRS, I pictured dragons! And swords! And questing!
When I now think about OSRS, at least as long as the OSRS logo is coloured as the woke flag, I think about same-sex marriage...! And gender...! And sexual orientation...!?
I don't think that THAT is what LGBT people want, right? Live and let live.
Focus on what everyone can agree on: An old school, mechanically deep, lore-filled video game to spend your free time on. Together. With everyone! Regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, etc. Now THAT is inclusion.

Oh, you poor baby. You don't get a safe space bubble for just a little bit when seeing a logo.

You don't understand. I don't mind that I feel that way. I find it strange that a company (Jagex) would market its game like that!
Don't you see that you yourself could be on the other end of the stick one day? Imagine that Jagex does a 'Trump 2024' event or a 'There are only 2 genders' event or whatever event that you personally don't agree with. Would that not break your immersion with the game? Would that not make you question yourself if you should support that company?
Note: I'm against putting ANY controversial event, i.e. NOT POLLED, into this game!

Nothing strange about it. LGBTQ people have money and people that support them have money while also being the majority. You seem to think most people are like you and that makes you think perfectly logical things are strange.

I'm not going to be anti-lgbt now just because Jagex might do something I disagree with. I'm on the LGBT's side not Jagex's.
I don't control my real life body with mouse clicks while my third eye watches above with a GUI. As a gamer my whole life I never really cared about immersion. I'll worry about that if and when we have real Sword Art Online tech.

I disagree. I think people supporting pride events are an absolute minority.
Note: Not supporting a pride event does not mean that one hates people identifying themselves as LGBTQ! Live and let live.
There is only one way to find out the facts and for Jagex to obtain a mandate from its player base:
Do you support Jagex polling next year's 'Pride Event 2024'?
