I really don't see the point in this. It's a bunch of updates put into one skill from my point of view. And to argue a few comments about it being good idea.
About being scared to try something new? It isn't really the newest thing to be implemented into RS2007. There are some new idea's sure, but isn't it the older ones that made Runescape the game we love in the first place? It'll be cool to see these added to current skills, even though I don't fully support them, I know it'll be useful to other players.
PvP/PvM? I joined RS2007 as a skiller, and one of my goals is to obtain a 99 as a skiller before starting combat. The grind is already real as it is, and I'm enjoying the grind I felt back in the day. I see this as a lazier type of skill, for people who are tired of the game and want something new to do. Or for players who want to get their skills higher faster and complain about the grind.
Nostalgia? This is true, people don't like change. Little bits of change has been what runescape has been thriving on, bringing in more people on little idea's as it is. Something as big as a new skill will draw lots of people away as it is, and it'll seem like to them their nostalgia is gone "We didn't have this rip-off of a skill back in my day"...yeah we know. It seems like they want their EOC crowd to join in with the 2007, as it is clear there are two split communities. Even though it may not seem like it is under my name next to this post, I did play back in the day, and nostalgia isn't a bad thing, it's just highly overrated*
TOO LONG;DR: The base of RS07 was nostalgia, and people can't deny that. Take that away and you'll loose many players, but not all. Similar to what happened to EOC, people don't like change. My reason for voting no is that it can be easily implemented into updates added to other skills much easier, without a bigger grind/hassle on a new skill. But, for the majority, they want their nostalgia protected as much as possible.
