"Bots – We will continue our anti-bot work which has really been seeing results in the last month or so. Since expanding BotWatch’s reach into Old School over 90,000 additional bans have been made, an incredible number, which averages out around 1,800 bans a day. Let us be clear: this behaviour is not allowed in either main or Old School RuneScape!"

Maybe this should be improved so innocent people don't get permanently banned for no reason... And don't say it doesn't happen, because my main account has been wrongfully banned for over two months now without so much as a reply to the ban appeal or Email to Customer Service.

Well done Runescape, 07 to stay. Since EOC has come out I personally have not done any combat as I thought it had become too complex. I am maxed on most skills and just chipped away at my few remaining skills that are not 99. The game had become boring and no fun. Agility and Runecrafting are slow work to level up when you are 90+
I still log on every day for the rubbish on squeal of fortune and POP which I quite like. Is there to be any upgrades to this mini game btw. I love to Lvl up on 07.

Happy Runescaping.

I have never botted in over 10 years of playing and can not see the point of achieving a 99 skill cape through cheating. Look forward to rares in the game and a few updates which I'm: sure will happen as we go along. Tabs and search facility in bank would be massive.

:) :) :)

K good. Why does it say this on front page still?

"From March until September 2013, OldSchool RuneScape is available to all RuneScape members at no extra cost. After that first six months, we'll review the level of interest and if it stays high we'll maintain the level of service and keep it at no extra cost for RuneScape members."

Great News! one question regarding PvP worlds. Can we please have these implemented because they were apart of 2007 and there are alot of worlds with no "activities" and i don't see why we cant have atleast one pvp world?. Alot of the community are involved in pking and having these worlds could only increase numbers in membership which is what Jagex is after?. I Don't see people cancelling there membership because of PvP worlds.

Ps: World 2 Should be a Pk world not fally trade because everyone only pks there.

This is a great day. Truly, Jagex has begun to understand what the players want. They want a game. Not to be pestered by microtransactions as they are handed thousands of free experience for doing next to nothing. This is the real deal. This is RuneScape. Thank you.

Regarding F2P: I agree with most of the users here in that without the option to play the game for free, there will be a much smaller growth in the player rate than there was when we were just starting out. We remember playing and getting all of our friends to play and then eventually all becoming members.

However, we don't think about how much server space was wasted by thousands of bots created for free and banned just so two more could take its place. We have to realize that Jagex has crunched the numbers, and adding the additional server space for the conversion of free players to members wouldn't be worth the agonizing over people cheating to try to make real money.

This does not mean the community cannot grow, though. People join MMOs that you have to pay for right off the bat all the time. I recently saw an ad for OSRS on a fansite for another game I play, and I know some people would be dying to relive the good old days of RS. But Jagex cannot do it alone. We must help spread the word to others who remember the glory days. With our powers to persuade our friends, coworkers, and blog readers combined with Jagex's powers of money and corporation, we can keep OSRS growing for years to come. As the community grows, the fun of trading and fighting other players will increase and OldSchool RuneScape will continue its awesome legacy of being a fantastic game!
