Along with warhammers and maces, I hope you will consider increasing the attack speed of Verac's Flail and Torag's Hammers, bringing them closer in-line with existing level 70 weapons. Compared to the Abyssal Whip, an attack speed increase would still leave them at 10 lower strength bonus, or more considering you can use a Str bonus offhand with the whip.
I'd also consider increasing the strength bonus on those weapons, but I think it's okay that they are lower than the whip, given the utility of the set effects.

Guthan's Warspear might also deserve an attack speed buff, to be consistent with other spears, but I acknowledge that the Guthan's set effect is good enough that it doesn't necessarily need a buff. An attack speed increase would still leave the warspear significantly behind the abyssal whip, but if a flat speed increase seems too much, maybe lower the strength bonus a bit too.

And while we're at it, can something be done about longswords and battleaxes? I know there's not really a simple solution there, but it'd be nice to see them find a home.

Enough. Just drop the rebalance crap. It's been almost 3 YEARS since we've had real content. ALMOST 3 YEARS SINCE TOB WAS RELEASED.

Since then:

Gauntlet - boring
Nightmare - dead content farmed by gold sellers
Shooting stars - WHAT???
Tempoross - short term entertainment

Where are raids 3? Come on. Please stop focusing on unnecessary changes and shift focus to working on real content.

This rebalance is stupid. There's nothing wrong with the tbow having +4 prayer bonus. A blowpipe is fine as it is. Y'all said you can control the tbow so you're happy with where it's at. Does that mean you can't control the blowpipe? It has a firing range of like 2 freaking tiles, so it's just as easy to control moving forward. Make it more challenging to stand closer to a boss or come up with some other ideas.

Seriously. This is ridiculous. Just bring out some content, please.

Also, power creep is fine if you're bringing out fresh content that's continually becoming more challenging. Of course, we're limited to 99hps as players so you just need not make things overpowered for the PvP crowd.

Right now, you're heading in totally opposite directions when it comes to skilling vs PvM. Skilling gets faster and easier as the game progresses. Yet nerfing the blowpipe, tbow prayer, etc actually makes the game harder for newer players.

No matter how I look at it these rebalances just don't make any sense. The only thing I can thing is that it's something to keep our minds occupied while no new, fresh content is released.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. You're in WAY over your heads with this. You have no idea how much you're hurting your playerbase by introducing changes this significant without polling them. For pvm and pvp. The blowpipe change will devastate pvm, and the warhammer change will REVOLUTIONIZE low-level pvp. D'hide change will overthrow a lot of high level pvp metas. But that's okay, or at least it would be, if you polled it. There are some great ideas in the rebalancing post, definitely not all of them, but some. But ultimately, I will give none of them any support if they are not polled. This arrogance is destroying the image you've been rebuilding from the start of OSRS. It is not acceptable, at all.

Poll the changes. Every single one. No compromise.

An Alternate Blowpipe Rebalance Proposal


Toxic Blowpipe

- Increase Ranged level requirement to 78 (up from 75)
- Remove the 1/3 chance of not consuming a Zulrah scale upon firing
- Remove the special attack (creates room for adding more ranged spec weapons)
- Ranged accuracy: 50 (down from 60)
- Ranged strength: 35 (down from 40)
- No changes to darts

Dark Bow & Saradomin's Light

- Add the ability to combine Saradomin's Light with a Dark Bow, creating a
Bow of Light


Bow of Light

- Same stats as Dark Bow
- Special Attack (50% bar): Your next attack is 50% more accurate and heals the user for half the damage dealt.
- Degrades after 1000 shots, needing to be recharged with another Saradomin's Light or Dark Bow (similar to the way infernal tools work with a Smouldering Stone)

Light Ballista:

- Increase Ranged level requirement to 75 (up from 65)
- Increase attack speed to 5 (up from 7)
- Ranged Accuracy: 90 (down from 110)
- Ranged Strength: -20 (down from 0)
- Can only fire up to Rune javelins

That's the quick version. I'm happy to talk about the rationale behind each proposal if there's interest.

If you keep introducing NEW weapons into the game-you'll have some BS after awhile. Maybe you all should contemplate a NEW-Old School Runescape? I mean can we have maybe and OG Old School Runescape that you left alone? Maybe you could even let us transfer our accounts to it permanently. I already have an "RS3" almost maxed account that I do NOT play anymore. Multiple accounts that were made for Darkscape....that you scratched. I am about to give it up. You keep changing the game. It's OLD SCHOOL FFS!!!!!!

The warhammer reblancing, sounds like you may have overlooked 1 attack high str pures. The dragon warhammer is a vast improvement over the tzhaar-ket-om (obby maul). It is +10 attack bonus, and 1 attack speed faster. It also doesn't require an obsidian necklace.

I like the fact you are thinking outside the box for this, but you do need to consider, "How will players potentially abuse these changes?" when looking at changes such as these.

Also, melee weapons aren't the only items missing diversity, and you actually missed a few categories for melee weapons. Furthermore, I'd like to point out that there is a few different ways weapons can be seen as useful: overall DPS, burst damage (max hit), special attack DPS, special attack burst damage (max hit), special attack utility (dragon battle axe, harpoon, axe, pickaxe, spear as examples).

I'll point out how the below fall into these categories currently.

Daggers
- Special Attack DPS
Canes
- Bad - essentially maces, just highlighting so not overlooked

- Special Attack DPS

- Special Attack Utility

So with all that being said, there is room for crush DPS weapons, Burst damage weapons of various styles, etc. There's not really a need to completely change how weapons are wielded as suggested with warhammers, when there's already a lot of gaps to fill. I'm not completely against the warhammer change,

I am really glad you're breaking this down so each individual change can be properly discussed rather than Bulwark and Blowpipe arguments overshadowing everything.

With this I really think you should reconsider polling some of these items as they are clearly not all necessary for the longevity of the game, they're just fun What Ifs the community has always wondered about.

This especially applies to the Rebalancing of plate armour, spears, maces, hastae and warhammers.
This purely just stems from some players thinking "What if scimitars weren't BIS?"
The reality is that 1 weapon type is always going to be better and the players asking this question will flock to that anyway.
The game currently gives players options which they can choose from.
It is not an integrity change to limit player choice, as they will feel more inclined to find the BIS for every scenario.

Additionally polling these unnecessary changes will actually show you're listening to the community and care about the classic Old School items.

PvP Changes

Making changes to the dragon hides will make things even harder for the pvp players as it's one of the most used gear in the p2p wilderness. This would make things difficult for newer players to join the pvp fun. We as old pvp players adapt and keep going but it's all about bringing more people to the savage lands, isn't it? ;)

To be honest it should feel more rewarding to step over the ditch...
