I find it both funny and sad seeing how many people are acting as if this update is going to summon a blackhole that will consume us all. I can somewhat sympathize with people feeling bummed out that their trips will take slightly longer while using a blowpipe, but some of the stuff I'm hearing in these equipment rebalance threads is borderline comical. I saw someone stating that they're going to be forced to start using a rune crossbow after the update(????)
So, the 2 most common complaints I see are people preaching about how they want the game as similar to 2007 scape as possible, and then others complaining that this update wasn't polled. I bring to these gamers words of wisdom:
1. The game has been well established as a fork of 2007 scape that progresses with new content. This is not setting some new precedent, the door has been open and the game has been thriving in part thanks to it. It' a charming sentiment, but players want fresh content.
2. Polls are good in theory, but in practice they're awful. There's far too much variance in what players want resulting in nothing getting passed. It's maddening seeing players complain about wanting new content, and then seeing polls go nowhere. I also worry about the amount of botters or people using mass amounts of alts to sway poll results.
This is an awesome update for pvp. For ages black d'hide has maintained a monopoly in pvp due to the stupidly high defensive stats it gives while requiring only 1 defense to equip. Also, 1 attack war hammer pures are going to become a thing (and I sure as hell am getting in on that action). I can't wait to see what new setups people come up with after the update.
Mod Ayiza or whichever unfortunate soul is having to read these comments must be a masochist to be able to put up with all these offensive, entitled, half baked garbage takes. Hang in there
