GreedyRadish took the words right out my mouth. The majority DO want Artisan & Bounty Hunter. For Artisan, 59% voted yes, and 64% voted yes to Bounty Hunter.
I don't see why people are ranting about re-polls. The Artisan & Bounty Hunter ideas are still not yet complete, and a lot of work has gone into them, so it would be a shame to dismiss them altogether. I'm in favour of both, as I think they'd both make a great addition to Old School RuneScape.
Some reasons for adding Artisan:
- Really adds to undervalued skills, such as Firemaking
- Makes skilling more rewarding through introduction of new items
- Provides new ways to train skills
- Creates tools that can be wielded by skillers
- Introduces new shortcuts into the game (Construction)
- "Resting" through the use of totems
- A new 99 to aim for!
I think the addition of the Artisan skill, whether released as a skill in itself, or just an addition to existing skills, would really rejuvenate, and put the fun back into skilling. We've seen a lot of new updates to combat recently, such as boss pets, new Slayer creatures, and Nightmare Zone, so it would be nice to balance out these combat-orientated updates with some skilling ones too.
Some reasons for adding Bounty Hunter:
- Makes the Wilderness potentially more dangerous
- Shifts focus onto real PKing, not killing vulnerable players
- Shows how much wealth a player is risking
I have fewer reasons for the addition of Bounty Hunter into the game than Artisan, but I believe it is an essential addition that should be implemented into the Wilderness in EVERY world, in order to bring back true PKing. Standard "PKing" these days usually just means killing easy targets, such as green dragon killers, and people gathering resources in the Wilderness. This is NOT what PKing is supposed to be about; it's supposed to be about going into a PvP area, and fighting players who are (more or less) equally prepared for a fight.
