Lustrous gems are garbage. Nobody wants to use ring of wealth, and with how rare this new drop table sounds like it would be nobody would want to use this new ring either over actual combat stat rings. The correct solution to the rare drop table is to just redo the entire thing. None of this "equip this to unlock a different table!" nonsense.

Maybe have some way to unlock a global change to the drop table if people think changing the whole thing is too op, and in fact that might be a great solution if it needs some decent requirements to unlock (that way we don't have bots farming for rare drops, from hobgoblins or whatever, eh?), and you could toggle between the two once unlocked if for some reason you wanted the old one back--though if you do it right I can't imagine anyone would want to.

Edit: also, about the "trekking to bosses" you really should consider making it easier for particular bosses. The update to make Grotesque Guardians really highlighted this to me, since if you don't use brews and super restores (which sucks most of your profit), you're going to make frequent trips back and forth to the rooftop. Gargoyles are a particularly lucrative task, which is fine, but the boss itself is on average a net minus on gold gain compared to just killing regular gargoyles, and that's ignoring that it takes much longer to finish a gargoyle task via the Guardians than by killing regular gargoyles (so exp and potential earnings are much greater on the gargoyles anyway). Faster trips to the boss would let us who would rather fight the boss actually feel like we can get somewhat rewarded for our efforts here rather than it just being a unique or pet hunt (which is honestly the case with most bosses nowadays anyway, which is really disapointing for those of us who enjoy bossing).

We can't stay in a 2007 version of the game. Jesus... We need new updates like this. Grow up or move on to another game - and before any of you noobs tell me to go play RS3, no thanks. I do not like the combat system there.

Love the idea but few concerns to raise.

It seems it will be too easy, quick or convenient to pick a particular boss. This includes using the daily skips, buyable option with points to pick the exact boss you want and maybe longer tasks and slayer mask/helm(i) speeding up your kc etc.

I fear this would depreciate some boss items and pets greatly.

It should probably be considered an additional part to slayer rather than an entirely new way to do slayer? i.e. you can come chance getting a good boss task. If you get a boss you're unable to complete then tough, come back tomorrow and see if RNG is on your side.

Also unsure about the idea of assigning large numbers of each boss per task. Using Jad as an example, if you get Tzharr task currently you can exchange for one chance at Jad and are even rewarded with a 1/100 chance for pet. Assigning a player 20 Jads in one task will mean everyone and their grandmother will have a Jad pet? Don't get me wrong I really want that pet but this would make it less worth it.

As for two points/slayer systems, I would imagine getting a boss task from the new master would "pause" your current task until you either complete the boss task or forfeit it. Forfeiting because you're "too weak" would allow you to continue your current slayer task and have no effect on the cooldown in place before you can get a new boss task. Completing the task allows you to be assigned a new one immediately.

In summary, I would like to see this slayer improvement be what hardwood trees/hespori are to farming. Not the main method to level, but a daily bonus or challenge.

Happy to discuss further

I'm going to mirror what a lot of other folks are seeing here. This will drastically upset the balance of certain items and how we approach "efficiency". Slayer is a compromise between fast xp and big money. Having the best of both defeats the purpose.
It seems that Jagex is going for the low-hanging fruit...I don't know for sure but based on the past couple years of updates they generally seem way more focused on irons and endgame PVM. Maybe that's where the money is?
Anyway, I see a lot of potential here, but more for the features and less for the slayer master/bossing itself. That's because I'm a strong believer that Jagex should tackle much of their broken content before adding more and more soon-to-be-broken content.
I'll go point by point and expand:

1. Requirements:
Remove the combat level requirement. Runescape is all about unique builds and some of the standard masters already have high combat reqs.
Increase the slayer level requirement. I can see why 75 was selected but if this content is not going to have significant changes, there's no way it can be justified as anything but endgame content.

2. Task System:
This is tricky and I'm kinda confused how all this would be implemented. I agree very strongly with others suggesting that this will make the slayer helm BIS for literally everything except like...minigames and raids. Perhaps it would be wiser to adjust the boss slayer system from regular masters first, or remove it outright. As is, you can already do a boss that corresponds with your slayer task without having boss slayer unlocked--that's the whole reason they mentioned it taking 7 hrs. This just doesn't feel like the appropriate solution to that.

3. Separate points, etc:
Again, this would depend on reworking other aspects of this update. I need to see more before I make a real opinion. However, if the reward are basically the same, I'm not sure why the points even need to be separated.

4. Storing and picking tasks:
Yup, way too overpowered. I could accept storing a task if it's only 1 and there's a limit, say, 10 tasks before you have to do it.
Picking tasks is an even bigger no for me. Efficient slaying is all about building your task list with all the right unlocks and extends etc. If this is something a whole lot of people want, I could see a compromise. IE for 100 points (every time) allow you to select a list of 5 monsters from that master, who will then randomly pick 1 of the 5 for you.

5. Exclusive tasks
Just no raids/gauntlet please

6. Rewards
Okay, here's the most consistently contentious part.
a. tele scrolls: If you're going to add these, just have them tele you to the boss. Agreed they should be somewhat rare. Another possible compromise is creating 2-4 less rare combinable pages, & that an incomplete scroll (page)will only teleport you some of the way there.
b. Supplies: No issues here
c. Divine reliquary: I like this idea but I don't think it should be part of boss slayer or this system at all. Maybe make it a possible drop from god wars monsters ON TASK ONLY where the common monsters drop it at ~1/500 and the bosses drop it at ~1/50. Require 50 prayer for 1 blessing stored, 70 for 2, and 90 for 3. Maybe a perk of 99 prayer could be to allow all 4 blessings.
d. Lustrous: This seems very very counter intuitive. Fix the rare drop table first, then try again with this one. Especially because this will create even more clutter with the new rare drop table to go with it.
e. Runes: I don't really an issue here as long as prices are way higher than their equivalent in GP. I see this as an option for using extra points, but not money making. And on that note, I don't think slayer points should be used to make money at all, only the monster kills should.

TLDR: This can be viable with major redesign but we need to make sure that this is both viable as endgame content that is pleasurable as well as retaining the OS balance and general feel.

Reading the change log it feels like you're ignoring the main feedback and focusing on the smaller issues such as runepacks and the rdt.
The core of this update is fundamentally flawed and inappropriate for the game.
RIP Forums :(
Finally we have signatures in the surprise forum update. I'm Lewis, I play Old School & I've been playing since 2005.

Hi, I really like the content you plan to develop with this slayer master, however the only thing I do not agree with is the level of slayer required to access the master; I think the minimum level should be 85 slayer and as for the combat level it would not matter. :P nenito

There is a heck of a lot of posted in this blog that calls for concern of balancing. It will cause a shift of never bossing off-task.

For the health of the game, I'm going to give this one a no.
There are some interesting ideas here; but the amount of change this brings to the game is overbearingly powerful and almost completely devalues the existence of every other helmet slot item in the game.
Response update as of July 16th:
The actual issue is still not being addressed. It is understandable that repeating a boss over and over off-task is more efficient for a singular boss. Breaking up the monotony by constantly changing boss will be refreshing for many players but brings up the issue of 'What if I don't mind doing any boss?'

This is the issue. Some people don't mind what boss they are going up against, they want to do what is efficient, and that is to always be on-task; bossing. This becomes DailyScape for those who are very new to bossing, or BossSlayerScape for those who legitimately just want to poke bosses for big damage. I additionally would like to bring up the point for Ironmen who have a lot of items to obtain; they can use Boss Slayer to get their gear far easier.

Still giving this a huge no on all counts. It simply does not belong in the game.
