This is actually a bad update for mobile users. This is due to the chat bar. Not many people have big screen mobile devices so pressing on that little chat icon could be annoying. Plus some people in my clan has cracked phones so forcing to press the small icon in one little area may result in some user unable to talk due to the unresponsiveness area of their mobile devices. Other people complained that they have fat fingers so on "lesser" mobile devices it doesn't pick up. The only current temporarily alternative to this at the moment is making the tap function on the left hand side to keyboard. This allows the users to have a different place to tap to talk. My suggestion goes as follows

1) Have a options to make the keyboard back to pre update
2) Make a bigger tap to talk icon

I hope a dev reads this and consider this the mobile community.

Okay, a few things here.

First castle wars. I don't mind the timer changing that much. impartial to that. However, I agree with the points brought up earlier about sabotaging. Sabotaging has been going on for literally years. Also, what is useful for the tipoff email? I've sent in a clip once, and asked if it was useful or not, and if i should keep spending my time. No response. Therefore, I didn't waste my time sending in further clips, as I wasn't sure if they were helpful.

Some sort of feedback on what we are sending in would help, as I am not sure if video evidence is satisfactory, etc. I don't mind recording and editing footage if it will be used, but I am not going to spend my time on something like that if I feel it is being wasted.

Second of all,
Items with more than one variant (e.g. Godswords with ornament kits or dragon items with a gold trim) can now be used and stored in STASH units when doing Treasure Trails. If you find other items that should be included, let us know in your feedback!
Does this apply to trimmed and gold trimmed variants? I just tried with a few, and it wouldn't let me store them in the stash unit. I was super excited, only to be let down. Would it be possible to allow (t) / (g) / (h) variants to be stored also? Castle Wars in Theme - A few minor changes to fix cheating

The Soul Altar STASH accepts infernal pickaxe and crystal pickaxe.
The Enchanted Valley STASH only accepts normal dragon axe, not crystal axe or infernal axe

I actually DO MIND the timer change, - as do many others who have pmed me about it.

It DOES make stacking less prevalent, - as evidenced by the lack of players today at more or less peak times. Its quite dead to be honest. Nice.

It DOES make it harder for vindictive sabo's to single out individuals and clans / teams they have a grudge against,- as evidenced by the lack of players playing today. Nice.

It does make ticket farming less prevalent, - as evidenced by the lack of players playing today . Nice.

WHAT IT DOES NOT DO IS MAKE IT EASIER TO REPORT AND IDENTIFY SABO CHEATS.

Again , another quick fix , cheap ass Jagex non solution that has vexed them for years and years despite some excellent minds giving them workable solutions to what is, in essence, a simple problem.

What happens if you need to take a dump or a slash between games?

What happens if you need to confer with your clan / buddies on strategy's to defeat a stack?

YOU SEE,... none of us mind a stack and a challenge,.. what we DO mind is an out and out cheat like a SABO. And today we STILL had sabos trying it on. And until there is a concerted effort by Jagex to develop ground rules and an effective way of reporting such 'disruptive behavior ', - NOTHING is ever going to change. No matter how you want to dick around with timers and what not.

The timer thing is a fail . And patently DOES NOT get to the heart of the problem. Which is cheating via sabotaging.

I think you're jumping to conclusions here. The timer change was clearly not meant to combat sabotaging (wasting cades/clearing defensive cades of your team as an alt account, general greifing, etc).

I mean even in the announcement it clearly said it's purpose was to make it easier to enter games, which it does fine. You can always take a longer break if you really need to do something between games, afk for a bit in the game itself, etc.

I personally don't see too many downsides to a shorter timer. Yes, there are some times it may be annoying, like if you want to change spellbooks and go buy runes, but overall I think the change is fine.

However, I do not think the timer change was meant in any way to combat the sabotaging situation; so don't act like it was, then blame Jagex for not taking the correct action because of a fallacy on your end.

Such behavior is very off-putting and will undoubtedly have the converse result of what you would desire, and that is to make them not care about your situation, because you are not approaching it in a rational manner.

You attract more bees with honey than vinegar, or some similar saying. Please be calm and rational about your desires, instead of throwing around accusations. I personally care about the sabotage situation, as castle wars is the main thing I do in game. I would love to see it fixed. But you accusing Jagex of messing up, when they didn't even attempt to fix the situation, is not going to help our cause.

4ev , You and I go back a long way and every time you have opposed anything Ive said on these forums. This time your condescending and patronizing tone has reached a new level. I DONT AGREE WITH THE CHANGE IN THE TIMER !!!

And theres good reasons for that.

And no , for every point you bring up I can give the counter to it. And the things Ive said regarding how it affects gameplay stands, we didnt need a change in game timer starts ,- we needed a way of foiling sabotagers !!! THATS what was important !!! Not starting the games so you barely have time to bank a ticket before the next game starts !!

And one other thing, 4ev,... I dont belong to any elitist ' keyholder' clan and yet I have been invited many , many times by a wonderful , mellow player who does... and we go right back to 2004. This person has always been polite and respectful . I have always declined the offer because I SUPPORT THEMED !!!

Playing 'privs' as they are known by , - to me personally, - is just a way of avoiding the issues that beset themed castle wars, ie : world 334. Privs to me are just a way of setting up artificial games ie : no spears, no ancients , - no this or no that. Absolutely creating a wonderland of fake games , without all the rough and tumble of 'real' castle wars with all its full permutations. To me it is nothing more than a cappers delight while leaving the real castle wars issues in the back of ones mind. In other words- avoidance of the issues and cloistering oneself and letting the rest go to blazes.

Im not built that way. I support themed and all the thousands of players who go through those lobbys each and every year. I will NOT be found hiding away in some contrived, elitist and tailored version while themed continues to suffer neglect because of what is, in essence , a lack of ballsy measures to improve gameplay.

And I expect far more from castle war veterans than this roaring silence on the issues at hand.

I'm not going to start a back and forth with you over this.

They changed the timer. They accomplished their goal of making games easier to join (shorter wait time).
They said nothing at all about other game issues, implying they didn't address them, if they were even aware of them

That's the end of the castle wars discussion. You are attacking me when I was trying to point out that your tone wasn't the best way to accomplish what you actually want. I never said the sabotage issue wasn't an issue; in fact if you read my posts, I agreed with you that it was a larger issue.

However, I didn't agree with the fact that you are falsely accusing the people that have the actual ability to fix the issues (Jmods) that you are complaining about, thus making them less likely to fix those issues.

That is all I wanted to get across, but apparently, that message has fallen on deaf ears, and now suddenly I am a bad guy because I participate in private games once in a while (weekly if I have time).

Just for your FYI, in addition to themed world games and private games (which I rarely play, honestly) I also play F2P games sometimes, where those players have also begun to enjoy the game, and I've even coached up a few players there in basic tactics, so that they could impact the game more with their low level accounts.

Now some of those F2P players have adopted the 'picking teams' concept in f2p, and if you tried to play games there, you'd see the timer didn't matter, since they just have it reset and/or hop worlds. Anyway, the morale of the story is not everyone has the same mindset as you, and enjoys the game in various ways. Picking teams is a method used to make teams more fair, and thus more enjoyable for everyone.

Nonetheless, you are entitled to your opinion, and I am entitled to mine. Let us leave it at that.
