What do my RS3 max stats have anything to do with my feelings towards granite mauls? I clearly play OSRS and like most people committed to the game I have a main, and an Iron man. I have the right to play this game, and have an opinion on it's PvP. As I said before, I don't like that a player can swap over to a t50 spec weapon (a relatively easy to obtain one none the less) and combo it with Godsword hitting well over the max hp cap with no risk. I don't need your insight as to which game I should or shouldn't be playing.
Based on what you've said in your posts. Clearly you do.
Perhaps before trying to speak on the state of the game whilst honoring both camps, you should understand why old school runescape overtook rs3. Then maybe it'll make sense why unpolled changes are an incredibly poor choice.
Have fun, I'm sure you'll figure it out eventually.
Bro shut up, I've probably been playing both RS games longer than you've been alive. I understand why osrs is more popular... and it is N O T the PvP. So kick rocks idiot.

Personal insults aside, my runescape "career" will hit two decades relatively soon due to having started playing on the original classic game. My actual life is coming up on having touched five decades.
I'm speaking not only as a longtime player, but as someone who's degree and personal career field involves and revolves around media, society, and the intersection of the two. This means the actual study of the perception of media by those using it, as well as how it influences and affects them.
Does this make me all seeing? No, it doesn't, but the combination of both does mean that I can speak intelligently about the game and changes, as well as recognize patterns that are obviously above your head.
I stand by my dissatisfaction in the way that Jagex has been implementing changes recently, and I don't believe that their way of thinking and updating the game is with the best intention of the overall community rather than their own monetary gain. It should be a balance, and they should openly communicate the "Why?" rather than simply making changes and launching a news post.
I'm going to go kick some rocks now, thanks for the suggestion.
I'm half way tempted to log back into the game to see how overpowered mage tanks will now be with the bind changes as such changes really was not needed. Standard binds was halved by prayers
for a reason.
Ancients does not have teleblock and standards has the highest PvP dps in the game with fire surge.
People doesn't use standards more because of how inconvenient it is for hybriding due to all of the space needed for runes. Ancients is also very often used for ice barrage combos. I suspect this will not change in deeper levels of the wilderness.
For lower levels of the wilderness though, you very well could have just broken magic's balance. A competent mage could already get kills
through
mage prot because with proper use of entangle and tb, the opponent would've been too low on supplies for it to matter. Now, it is likely that they will have no chance of escape at all unless the mage happens to get a bad string of hits, which isn't too likely in magic's case.
Adding snare to F2p though..that's awesome. What many doesn't realize is that magic has significant dps advantages over melee even in f2p..so waves are not needed, utility though was severely lacking which is crucial to magic's viability. Teleblock itself wasn't enough. Snare should hopefully remedy this problem so the only thing left is making it to where f2p mages are not limited to level 1 armor.
OSRS Mage Tank.
Believe magic to only be for support? Think again. It's just as valid of a Pking style as melee and range is.

Your degree in media doesn't translate to knowing how to develop a game for longevity. You are just looking at the short term. The evolution of combat was controversially the worst implication into the game because it wasn't well developed, but with QoL updates - it's honestly not the worst game to play out there.
Also it's important to note we are working with different game developers on the Old School team. They have said in the past they do not want the game to go down the path the other Runescape went. The devs also stated they would poll major changes, and other changes they would make unpolled for the integrity of the game.
Berating them over a well needed change to fix some of the integrity of PvP because maybe it messes with one of your many pure accounts is not how you start a conversation. It's just whining while pointing at another game with less players and saying 'Wahh, wahh, you are ruining my experience, wahh, look at rs3 you want it to be that.' There is no correlation other than it being unpolled.
