I've been very happy about gmaul change ever since I first read it. Increased risk for 50 % gmaul users is perfectly balanced. A lot of rants about it is expected because of how many pures were used to use the most OP spec weapon for just a cost of 30 k.

Next pvp integrity change we need is increased rule enforcement against the illegal 3rd party clients like certain custom runelite pvp clients. Wilderness and LMS are good places to start working on this because pvp is where it matters the most.

i saw that staff team wants to remove effigy from the revenant drop table (if im not in wrong); and heres my suggestion: Remove and add corrupt dragon items (those items were released on 07 i remember bounty hunter craters and there was many players pking with them) this would bring back the f2p pk and keep them most active, and most interesting/intense fights ; or atleast corrupt dragon battleaxe to try and see how community reacts to this change.

I really think you guys missed the mark on this one... This granite maul update did absolutely nothing. Those who have abused this buggy mechanic have already banked more than enough to get it back... There has been no noticeable change. The solution was never to make it cost more.

If I may, the problem we have with the granite maul is that it hits too fast and too hard to be able to do anything about... 3 hits within the same tick that can total more than the max hitpoints of a player is the very definition of overpowered... Quick point, to those who are upset that "nerfing" the granite maul ruins accounts that are built around it: isn't that a laugh? The very fact that accounts have been built around a specific weapon only supports the fact that it is OVERPOWERED! Pking accounts used to be built as range pures, defense pures, 60/75 attack pures... Pures based on a style of combat - Not one nonsensical weapon.

I digress. To fix this, there needs to be a chance to defend against it. A good fix would be to fix the BUG that allows characters to use the special attack while NOT next to the opponent. It may be a failure on the mechanics, but it's still a bug. I get laughed at for calling it that but tell me... Is it intentional for a melee weapon to be able to hit from several squares away (halberds and the like being exceptions)? I don't think so... Correct me if I am wrong, but I'm pretty sure that fits the definition of a bug. The point being, how can you defend against a weapon that can take you down from full hp AND you cannot see coming?

Now, another thing... The runelite and other 3rd-party clients... I thought we weren't allowed to use 3rd-party software... Just like real-world trading, those with more money (can afford computers that can handle the programs) are given an unfair advantage. Tying that into the G-maul, theres a plug-in that actually tells you where to stand to abuse that bug. I'm out of space now, Sorry.

Pretty disappointing reading this update post Jagex. Nobody asked for a Granite Maul KO nerf, just because you've created Bounty Hunter & people may not be using it as much as you'd like isn't a reason to start messing with old proper game mechanics to tout "newer better" content, forcing players to play that content. If you can't make content that players don't like then don't mess with the rest of the game to implement it deeper.

Also, many players don't know about game updates or whatnot because they don't care to know. The community itself is great for getting updates or game news about each other from word of mouth in game - we don't need you to start messing with the Welcome Screen - because we all know it's just going to be used to tout advertising and gimmicks (the exact same way RS3 started with Squeal of Fortune & MTX news, cluttered screen with too much crap). We already have a plethora of sources, be it Twitch, Reddit, in-game, forums, osrs home page, polls, etc.

Stop modifying the game we all know and love!

Unrelated to this weeks update, there's a small issue with the seed vault.
Currently there are 20 possible saplings, but you can only store 19 in it.

A second thing about the seed vault, it would be nice if you could add watered seedlings to the vault.

If you can't fork over some GP for its overpoweredness then you shouldn't be PvP'n with it. Simple as that - go to your next cheapstake weapon - ddp++


Based on your account stats in rs3, it's very clear that that is the game style that you prefer. OSRS integrity is based around the fact that jagex realizes that the state of RS3 is not something that draws the majority of their player base. That is part of what led to the creation of OSRS.

So if you should prefer the way RS3 mechanics are "Balanced" then you are welcome to continue to play that game. I'm not a pvp'r here to cry over the maul change, in fact I have spent more time skilling in these recent months than I ever bothered with years ago.

The fact that is disappointing is how Jagex is beginning to view OSRS as a cash cow to milk rather than a community to support. Unpolled changes are occurring more and more often, and this is just the most recent/blatant example.

The changes initially begin as "we're balancing combat" "we're introducing new loading screen flare" "we're repairing something we didn't intend".

The issue is that "balancing" brought EOC. "New loading screen" shoves microtransactions in your face. "repairing" a long running game mechanic isn't fixing it.

They are making the same mistakes again.
