1. Would you like rare items return in some form?
-Yes, but only the tradeable ones. The other ones are pathetic (except bunny ears and scythe)
2. If you vote for rare items to return, would you like the currently tradable rare items to remain tradable?
-Yes
3. How would you like rare items return?
-One great-sounding option is a random reward from clue scrolls during a certain time-frame. The most important thing is to discontinue the items, IMO.
-Some new, never before seen rares would be nice, aswell as the old PHats, Santa, Masks.

Personally I would like to see the non-tradable rares back (yo-yo, rubber chicken ect) and introduced in the way they were originally (Holiday events)... I DONT think the game needs tradable rares... There is a 100+ good reasons why not to, just look at the avarice they use to cause in the main game, not to mention their RWT potential.... By all means bring the phats back, but make them untradable like the rest...
You had to look, didn't you? This spoiler got scared and ran away, shame on you!

My Suggestion:

The Devs should give rares according to when the persons account was made.

Peoples eligibility to receive the item is based on when their account was made, therefore they were able to have those rares in that time or year that they participated.

I feel as if this is the most balanced way to hand out rares. People that are not entitled to them have no business having a rare and showing that they have been a part of the community since it started. If you are a true "oldschool" player, it will show with the types of rares you have.

Honestly the polls don't appeal to me.

Then that's unfair on people like me, who have used several different accounts over 10 years of playing.

Not saying people are not entitled to rares, but there has to be some sort of appreciation to the oldest of players, and the players that have ACTUALLY been there when crackers were dropped, along with all the other events. Otherwise, there will be no sentimental value behind the rares and they will just be luxury items that hold no meaning.

If you want a rare, upgrade your account to members and enjoy your oldschool accomplishments. Thats true oldschool rares for you.

you forgot the part where technically the oldest old school accounts were made almost 2 months ago.

2nd i've been playing this game for 12 years and im working on my 3rd runescape account since the first 2 were deleted when jagex emptied most rsc accounts in 2005.

3rd new game new beginning, that means EVERYONE is entitled to these items.
your idea of the older your account is should show by the oldest rare you have exists in a way starting with the scythe on rsc & eoc. though i say that and think *Hey i was there for the scythe event but wasnt able to pick one up.*

1. Would you like rare items return in some form: I would,
ONLY
if it would return in such a way that players have equal chances to get one.

2. If you vote for rare items to return, would you like the currently tradable rare items to remain tradable: Yes, some people have goals to be rich and own these rare items. I don't think we should limit that group by making these items not tradable.

3. How would you like rare items return: Drop these items into random places that are rarely visited and a few hidden in places that could only be gotten through Tele-grab.

2 weeks is more than enough time for a DISCONTINUED ITEM, thats kinda the point of them.

And my point is that there should BE NO DISCONTINUED ITEMS, because they lead to destructive behavior and create problems in the community.

I think something like a ''Wheel of Rares'' somewhere ingame would be the most fair way of getting one. With changes of X % of getting one.

Make it like 1 spin for every player a day/week.

Something like the ''Wheel of Fortune'' but WITHOUT paying REAL LIFE money!!!

1) Spin
2) A price or no price
3) Price = a rare
4) No Price = nothing

Honestly, being a player from around 2004-2005 I was around when rares weren't that costly, I bought a green mask for 9m at one time. This was because they weren't the rares that they are in eoc now. I say that they should be dropped like they were back then. Of course, it's going to take a year or longer until people start quitting or doing something dumb with their rares, but that's how a economy works.
