I think everyone should be even and they should be dropped on the floor BUT you can only have 1 of the item ..

Example if its dropped on the floor and you pick it up... You cant pick another one up*

** can only pick 1 cracker up.

Original message details are unavailable.
Here is my idea:
-This is only allowed for accounts registered within the initial registration period, any account after that period should not be allowed to obtain a rare by this method:

Every player that initially voted will be given an item in –game known as: goodie-bag
This item is untradeable and only limited to one person per account. Once the item is used it disintegrates.

The goodie-bag gives the player an opportunity of obtaining a tradable rare, however the chances of claiming a rare is extremely low. More common prizes will also be added to the mix, such as: buckets, coins, gems, armour, dragon etc.

This way everyone has a chance, albeit a very low chance but still a chance is better than no chance.

I hope this is taken into consideration.

For those of you who are wanting them to be untradeable, you're not thinking it through. Untradeable= not rare as it has no real value...and if they were tradable but still obtainable through treasure trails or the like, then they aren't discontinued, and that's what makes it fun to have part of the game! The unreachable goal of a rare that you work hard to obtain.

That being said, it goes without saying that at the start of the release, rares will be close to worthless for YEARS until they disperse and whatnot. I think making them tradeable and through a drop means EVERYONE NOW gets a few of them, and as they disperse through the years, they become rare.

Tradable lets us swap and have fun with them....I mean really.

Are people wanting the items to still be rare in Old School Runescape or are they just wanting the rare items from EOC to come to Old School through anyway possible?
I think that is an important question.

If a majority of players want them to remain as rare items then they should not be given by most of those suggestions.
1. Distribute them using similar mechanics as you did before (dropping them, holiday events)
People will stock up on them purposely causing them to be completely devalued.

2. Appear as a very rare reward from a treasure trails
As time goes on they will accumulate, they will still more than likely be worth a pretty penny, but they will not be as rare as they could be.

3. Distribute them through very rare monster drops
People will camp monsters even for the slightest chance at it and gather them, eventually causing the supply to be mid-high. I believe stock should stay at low if they are meant to be rare. Unless you are talking like 1/1,000,000.

4. Have an NPC shop you can buy rare items from for a small amount of GP
This could be good if the NPC is in a remote location (not requiring quests to get to) and the players aren't told about it and the NPC is only out for a short amount of time. Although this would have the negative effect of the few who find it will more than likely keep it to themselves and gather them for mass profits.

5. Have an NPC shop you can buy rare items from for a large amount of GP
Pretty much same reasoning as #4 but players who find the NPC wouldn't be able to get as many if they don't have a lot of cash to start with.

6. Have them given out as rewards from community events
Sounds good. People might complain about unfairness, but oh well.

7. Give one of each rare item to every old school player
No..

8. Have them appear as very rare drops when skilling
Could be very good if it is only around for a short time (1-2 months).

9. Introduce new seasonal events for each of them
No. Same as #1.

These are my thoughts.

I think introducing rares as very rarendrops from monsters/skilling would be a decent idea but only for a limited amount of time (say, two weeks to a month) so that they will become discontinued and obviously, rare. Two weeks to a month would allow most players to try their hardest to obtain a rare and if they can't then tough luck. Furthermore, there should be a cap on how many rares there are obtainable from monster drops/skilling, say 500 per rare. Also, making rares tradeable (apart from the rares which were already untradeable) would give players who join in the upcoming years and months a chance of obtaining rares for themselves.
