Sorry if this sounds like a rant, but I feel it has to be said straight.

You are talking about Chambers of Xeric under the title "Fixing Old Content". This is not old content - This is added content that you have developed on top of the original OSRS.

Old school Runescape's world these days is huge, with an enormous amount of new content to explore. I remember this was not the case 5 years ago when I created my current account that I still play on. I played Runescape around pre-EOC and when I created my account 5 years ago I was thrilled that once again I can relive the good old days of completing Elemental Workshop and all the cool content I enjoyed back in the day.

Many polls these days focus on balancing previously released new content, or adding completely new, often late game oriented content like bosses or raids. While these are surely very appealing to the majority of older players who have already played through most of the current late game content, there is this group called casual players which I belong to, who just don't care. They are here to play old school Runescape whenever they have time. They like how there is always the old Gielinor to return to where they can just go to Catherby to fish lobsters, cut yew at Seer's village or fletch bows at the GE just like they used to do back in 2006. These players don't care that much about voting for new content for they feel most of this new content is not intended for them, for they are probably still working towards getting the god sword they always dreamed off, or completing that lunar diplomacy or desert treasure to finally get that cool new spell book.

If you are going to improve the account side PLEASE fix it so that you don't need to setup a new email address when you setup a new account. All of your accounts should be able to be under one email address.

Also, it would be nice if there were an easy way to see all of your accounts, membership status, and expiration in one place.

So I keep an eye on news posts.. hoping that there will come a time when RS looks like something I could play again..

This news post makes me happy with my decision to find another game.. y'all sound like you're planning to really push pvp hard.. when not all of your customers have interest in pvp.

What a shame.. RS was so much more than pking.. back in the day.. and it sounds like you want to choke off all aspects (and all players) that don't want anything to do with pvp.
Except that that's not true haha. I mean, the very VERY strong majority of content is for skillers and pvmers. This is just talking about giving Pvpers some content. The fact that you don't want Pvpers to get any content is upsetting to say the least. But as you've said, you've moved on to other games and it's great to hear. We don't need people that believe that certain parts of the community don't deserve to get content updates.

What part of what I stated is "not true"? Hmm?

I'm thinking you've only seen what you wanted to see in my post, and no portion of what I actually stated.

Your 'facts' need checking, friend, as I couldn't care any less if they add content for pkers. I don't play the game now.

Facts, are something that can be proven. It is nothing more than your OPINION that I "don't want Pvpers to get any content".

If I was still a paying member, I'd vote in opposition to ALL pvp related content, and not without cause.

When pvp content is directed at players who enjoy pvp content, it holds potential to be supported. Jagex has historically not offered pvp content. They offer content aimed at getting those who don't enjoy pking out to the wildy.. as fodder.. for those who do enjoy the activity. Most of the populous of this game do NOT enjoy pking and there's not going to come a time when the masses change their minds. Darkscape lasted less than a year with few peeps. A lesson learned.

And just to add to that..

BIS... ANYTHING.. that can only be obtained in the wildy... is NOT pvp content.. it's to lure out those who don't enjoy pvp.. because y'all KNOW they wouldn't even attempt it if it weren't BIS or some other massive achievement..

There is no reason the devs couldn't design content aimed at and only effecting pvpers. They have the intellectual capacity to do so.. and choose not to. That's on them.. and as long as that is what is presented for vote.. there's no logical mind that's going to believe it would pass.

I mean, hey if you want to add the best crops for farming with a kc in the wildy req.. that's about as good as offering BIS only obtainable in the wildy or only dropped from someone in the wildy.

This game never was a pvp based game. Pvp has been there, but it's never been the only focus and this democracy (the polls that should have never been because the vote level wasn't achieved.. jagex enjoying those chicken that've come home to roost, no doubt) has polled content from the beginning.

The cries for, and justification of having, the polls are now more comical than they ever were back in 2013.

Jagex insisted (players too) that they offered the polls even though the vote level wasn't achieved.. as an 'extra'. A 'bonus'. Because the players 'wanted' it.

Haha. Karma, baby, karma. =)

I was a bit confused by this newspost, because I play for about 2 years and I never noticed these problems, yet it seems like everybody new about and experienced them.

I can't tell much about customer support, because fortunately I never had a problem that they needed to solve, but as for content, I like it even more than in 2005-2007, which tells much.

What makes me worried here is the mention of concentrating on "fixing old content". For me, what made me join OSRS was that while it's 2007scape, it's not staying there content-wise, rather new areas and quests are coming out. I just hope this won't stop to give place to a year of "fixes" only.
One reason I stopped playing RS3 (besides utter sad failures, like EOC) that from 2009 onwards there were less and less new content, with even several months passing without new worthvile in-game content. I just hope OSRS doesn't go down the same road...

I hope I just misunderstand something. Let's be like that.

Except that's not what they're saying at all. They realise that PvP has a community and they want to give PvP some updates. All content in the game is technically a lure. What you're talking about is lures with risk. So you're against risk. Cool.

Anyway, you've once again said you'd vote against all PvP updates if you could which just shows that what I said was correct. Oh well, at least we aren't getting any crash and burn!

I write this not to be sarcastic and I truly mean this.

Working on stopping people who scam others in game and lure unsuspecting people is in my opinion more important than fighting bots. Nothing kills new player growth more than these things happening to new players. The worse part are videos all over youtube of people bug abuse luring players for billions of gp and Jagex has done absolutely nothing about it. What kind of message does that send to a new player who sees this and thinks to themself " Woah, that guy spent thousands of hours working for all those items and lost it because people tricked him?" They're going to do 1 of 2 things. Try to scam/lure people themselves breeding more toxicity, or just never play the game.

Bots are definitely an issue to the core of the game but It's not killing the future as much as the "scammer/luring" community is.

In regards to poll booths; I think we should be alerted with a message upon login that there is an active poll EVERY login. Perhaps add a countdown as well 'x days left until it closes!' or something to better incentivize players voting. I also think the polls should be accessible at all times. some sort of new polling tab. Half the polls I don't vote in are because I forgot there was a poll going on and I just don't want to leave what I'm doing to run to a bank far away and vote.

PvP - The biggest threat to PvP is getting taken out quickly, with no chance at survival, for all your items. Start in the right direction - make a P2P PvP world without Special Attacks. Where skills, combos, and risk-taking matter more than the 30k Hammer of Bull****

Old Content - Finish off old content. I'm still waiting for what happened with the Slug Mother from Slug Menace. Where's my God Mystic with +1 Prayers? Templar Armour which is Prayer Rune Armour? A Magic Potion worth using in PvP?

Instead of focusing on what grew the game from 2009 to 2011, look at what grew the game from 2003 to 2007.

The wrongful ban part of the read strikes my eye. As if I don't want my account to be Unbanned or Undisabled enough, I feel that thieving whilst on a touch screen Lenovo laptop when OS beta mobile was out is not as bad as it may seem. I've researched what's bothering me lots, and contemplated mailing Jagex before I took to Twitter. Frankly, I ought to have been perm banned mid 2014 but a glitch or second grace was given. I simply was captivated and played to the point of Feburuary 2017, 23rd. Very interested in the jagex support idea. I would like my account enabled again. Rs3 maxed and near 1 billionXP. OsRs near 2k total lvl and almost Uri emote and nearly quest cape. My touch screen laptop came in handy for a thieving grind and got me banned, unfortunately. It's asking a lot but can you blame me? note, this isn't the account.
