Staff of the Dead caught my eye maybe with a few minor adjustments to the color it would fit perfectly into OSRS.

Thats just my 2 cents anyway.

oh no, I wasn't saying it should be polled. just curious which existing model it's based off of
Well, after someone tweeted that I should try the hunter one, I looked over that model, but couldn't find any way of recolouring it. I want to check out the Dorgeshuun and Karil models next. Failing that, it'll be the model used by the runite one. you could try the phoenix crossbow from shield of arrav... just a thought

support...even if it can't be recolored it is just like staff in this survey that isn't being recolored because its not recolorable...

support...even if it can't be recolored it is just like staff in this survey that isn't being recolored because its not recolorable... well if the phx crossbow isn't recolorable then it probably can't be used since the phx crossbow is already tradeable. It would be too common of a scam item. You can't simply make the phx crossbow untradeable because you need to trade it over during the quest. I don't have a picture of one but I just remember it being very distinguishable.

Also maybe their is an old data file for the original crossbow. These were replaced by the bronze crossbow when the crossbow update. The original steel crossbow might still be in the "archives" - like I would know anything about stuff like this l0l.

Well if the old crossbow model still exists, I guess they could replace the phoenix crossbow with the old steel crossbow, and then use the phx crossbow for the new crossbow.

... maybe consider updating the game to allow the player to change the look of the staff by an NPC so everyone gets their own custimizable staff.
We don't have a lot of dynamic customisation commands in the 2007 engine, so every different version has to be a different item. It becomes somewhat awkward programming an item that exists in dozens of different forms, and there's no hard limit to how many versions we'd be expected to support; everyone's going to feel left out if they don't get their preferred version too.

The SODa looks too much like Ahrim's staff. I'm sure there was a meeting that took place where you required everyone to bring in an idea for this new staff. Well, poor Ricky got too freagin' drunk...
Funny thing... I posted a preview of the Staff of Darkness on Twitter last night, as well as on our forums, and someone wrote straight back to say "hey do ahrims". So I figured I may as well give you the option.

When you've got the Phoenix crossbow equipped, it seems to use the exact same model as all the normal bronze->runite crossbows. I can recolour those anyway, and people have posted a few promising colour schemes.

Yeah you're right. It has a very distinct inventory model. but it looks just the same as the regular crossbow when equipped. I thought it looked different. maybe i'm thinking of the 2006 or 2012 version where the limbs were more spread out...
