A message to Mod Ash:
I started playing OSRS because it DIDN'T contain these updates. PvP worlds sucked. They were a replacement for an already perfect wilderness situation that JaGex removed for their own reasons. But this is OLD SCHOOL RUNESCAPE. No degrading overpowered special weapons. GWD was far enough alone to have that re-released with the overpowered Godsword special attacks. But I could understand. It was to allow more PvM and more challenging bosses. PvP worlds coming out to release the overpowered weapons once again on an "old school server" is going to ruin what is so great about 2007. Its not RS3. I'm sorry if it offends but the only reason I pay you guys monthly membership anymore is for OSRS cause I think RS3 is trash. Now with this new content poll your risking ruining even that too. Nothing was wrong with whips being the strongest weapon in 07, nothing was wrong with a lvl 70 attack weapon being the best. lvl 70 attack and lvl 99 attack still makes a huge difference. It kept it simple and fun like old school runescape orignally started as but with these updates im just waiting for the lvl 90 attack gear to be on old school and whats old school about that? nothing.

Also on another serious note, we all had to restart our accounts from scratch on 07. We never had any bonus exp weekends or brawling gloves to help us in the start (which would be the only applicable time) but now if your releasing brawling gloves it does simply one thing. Make skills too easy. Make the game too easy. Make a skiller not look as good as they do now. You have to put in a lot of work to get your skills up but I cannot tell you how many sets of brawl gloves i got back in 2011 and got all of my skills +70 easily with no effort with them. Its 4x normal exp! thats just a little extreme to me and it ruins the integrity of this game

Unless we declare that anyone on a PvP world can attack anyone else without combat level restrictions. Might get a bit intense, but I'd do it if you liked...
think this would just ruin it imo, if level 70 pures or whatever want to pk then I think they should be allowed to without a team of 126's coming and 1 hitting them all.

But yeah, I can see where you are coming from with removing the level restrictions. I think the best way to do it is just scale rewards based on combat level but max it out at level 90-100 or so, that way it keeps it somewhat balanced and eliminates really low levels from abusing/botting it.

tbh pvp worlds should only have 15% xp boost in hotzones. hotzones could be where ever. Like teaks for wcing, willows at barb assault, and then make 1 bank that is dangerous for people to fletch/herb at.

However you should have to risk at least 75k in gp value (so gp, or the alch value of your armor) to be able to get the 15% and brawling gloves, etc. Also you should always be skulled in pvp worlds and there shouldn't be pjing. If you are attacking some1 who cannot hit back in single combat, you shouldn't be able to get attacked.

and brawling gloves should only work in pvp worlds

@Mod Ash, for the "attacking anyone else" you could fix this with the box having to be wielded (possibly that big one from a certain quest) and that you couldn't attack while wielding it.

Player A picks up a box from NPC 1

While wielding the box Player A is attackable by anyone. The box could have -400 strength bonus (or something ridiculous) if you cannot simply make him un-aggressive in any way.

If Player A takes off the box or logs out, he has to wait 30 mins to re-do the event & cannot take it off while in combat.

The box would have the following effects:
Anna in a barrel - You cannot teleport.
Homeport 30 min timer if removed or logged out with.
"You must wait at least 10 seconds after being in combat" message when trying to remove the box if you are in combat. This will be the same message as the one when you try and log out while in combat.
*Just some suggestions Ash!

hello jagex. For the idea of left click for the GWD bosses, can you also please please please do a left click for other big bosses. This would include kalphite queen, dagganoth kings and dragon king If you do this it would make the boss battles so much more epic, and we want epicness when were killing big ass mother *******

I started playing OSRS because it DIDN'T contain these updates...

A lot of people started playing OSRS when it didn't contain these things. Now, if we'd been able to just leave OSRS completely alone, and refuse to add any updates ever, that'd have been extremely convenient and cheap for Jagex. However, having got a community here, that community started asking for things. There've been a lot of voices arguing that OSRS must get more activities for high-level players to enjoy, or get stale. They may be a vocal minority or they may be a representative opinion; we can't just guess, so we run polls.

We've therefore set the rules so that updates like this get polled, and are only added if 75% of the community agree on them. It's therefore very strongly biased in favour of the game staying unchanged. But if 75%+ of players say they want a change, that's a massive level of demand for the change to be made.

It's entirely possible that lots of people will feel like you do, and will vote no. If we see there isn't demand for PvP worlds after all, in any form, that's fair enough.

What would be classified as a "safe area"? It says the 15% experience boost would apply to those not in a safe area. Are the "hotspots" the same as they were in 2011?

Original message details are unavailable.
Banks and respawn points would be designated as safe areas. The same would apply to various quest-specific areas, player-owned houses, random event areas and most minigames.

We didn't say anything about declaring areas to be hotzones.
