That seems reasonable. Kinda fiddly to plug in, actually, since interface work always is, but I wouldn't rule it out.

It'd be nice if every estimated schedule worked out perfectly, yup. Of course, if the project is something that's not been tried before, with constraints outside the company's own control involving what can and can't be done on app stores, predicting a release date gets harder. And sometimes other matters arise that need attention more urgently - such as fixing bugs, which many players consider more important than pushing on with the new project - so the project gets pushed back a bit.

Now, maybe we shouldn't even try to predict a date, so that no-one gets upset when the prediction doesn't work out. That'd solve the problem alright, but I've found that RS players over the last decade or so have been very keen to know roughly when to expect things. People like to know. We could refuse to answer, lest our estimate be misinterpreted as a promise, but frankly one might expect people to be capable of understanding that an estimate is just an estimate, and they're subject to change as new facts emerge.

Meanwhile, while some players clearly do understand this, others will naturally seize the opportunity to post immature rubbish. Welcome to the internet.

The main consequence of this is that every game is filled with insults and flaming, because players aren't coordinated and they get frustrated with each other. Yeah, I believe the design was explicitly aiming to require communication. Forcing use of the chat-channels isn't ideal, since people currently have to use them as clans, but maybe more head-up display info could be added in future.

Although I haven’t the skills to complete it yet I really liked the Dragon Slayer II addition and how it furthered/tied up some of the lore.

I was wondering if similar updates are planned for other currently ‘open’ quest series?

For example the following series are currently ‘open’ in osrs:

- Temple Knights / Slug Menace - ends with impending doom/setup for a follow up? Possible way to add another set of Temple Knight armour? (e.g. Rune equivalent?)

- Morytania / Vampyre - currently no resolution to the Vampyre storyline (V Klaus, etc)

- Mournings End III - As I understand the current ‘live’ game RS3 has this storyline resolved, I would really like to see this in osrs too since the Elven area of the map feels under-utilised.

There’s likely more I just haven’t got to them yet but as someone who enjoys questing and the associated lore these are the ones which stand out to me as ones which could be capped off in a manner similar to Dragon Slayer II and Monkey Madness II both of which resolved their respective questlines VERY well in my opinion.

Great to see some QoL to Fossil Island, thanks all involved!

I'd like to echo the above with the Volcanic Mine needing some attention, though. I'm jumping ahead myself a fair bit as I've not had the chance to play it yet, but that's frankly one of my areas of criticism. I've found that getting fossils is an absolute nightmare on the Island and I've never been a fan of locking big swathes of content behind RNG.

Players such as myself who've largely only ever had impressively bad luck have to grind a remarkably greater amount to get access to it. Drops and a leg up in existing content is one thing, but an entire minigame locked behind it just seems unfair. I probably killed a bit north of a hundred, 150 of those crabs and had received only 2 fossils, two different sizes. I spent an hour or two at the mushroom place to no avail, etc. It shouldn't take me 8-10 hours or even more just to get in the front door when I already have the mining requirement.

Again, I can't speak alot to the actual game, as I've not had the pleasure, but I've heard its difficult to get a game going and difficult when you do so I'm sure theres no shortage of things to do there, either.

Hopefully some of today's updates will make it easier, but I hope to see further improvements in future.

The dev who wrote Slug Menace told me his rough plans about the rest of that series, so we'd actually be able to take it in that direction if wanted. And you'll possibly have seen us talking about a new raiding dungeon in Morytania; while we wouldn't lock such a thing behind the Myreque series, we would hope to expand the Myreqye lore as part of it.

Just bear in mind that those quest series had always needed big dev budgets. Like, months of devs' & artists' time. With the best will in the world, we can't do that many in any given year, unless we were to knock out short quests with recycled graphics - which would be a rather sad thing to do to an iconic series.

You may find you get a bit of a leg-up by doing the new mini-tasks. I get that you feel you should have access because you'd got the Mining requirement, though we're not necessarily going to have a rule that only stat-requirements can ever be used for content in a game that has so many other things to unlock too. But avoiding RNG in future would be reasonable.

Thanks a lot for the update and hard work.I always look forward to thrusday for updates,little or big.You guys on the Dev/mod team never seem to fail us,imo.Its the reason why our little Osrs game is always fresh and so clean! TY

Good little update :)

Ps. Please add a fun pvp minigame with good rewards so people will do it, like an oldschool alternative to soul wars /stealing creation (I know you guys hate adding eoc content so just make it a little different lol). A fun minigame would be a good little activity to do other than the normal grind and pvp. Right now theres not really any fun minigames with good rewards.

The good xp rewards is why people played soul wars and still do PC. But good rewards are the key to having lots of people of all levels playing, instead of just bored maxed players.

In regards to the volcanic mine can the chat issue be solved by showing any public chat people make inside the mine appear on everybody else inside the mines chat box. I feel like this already exists somewhere in the game... Barbarian assault maybe? Cant remember
