Correct, it was not in this week's update so it was not listed in the newspost.
Last I saw, the team had done quite a lot of testing on it, but it wasn't cleared for launch yet.

Will there ever be more Fossil Displays added to the Varrock Musuem?

I train at ammonite crabs a lot, and find it quite pleasing to get fossil drops.
As they collect over time, and its a nice extra reward, getting those XP lamps.

Maybe Displays that need multiple type of fossils? Ones that need small & med,
med & large, etc

And also, displays for the rare fossils, since they don't exist.

With two different ways to do the same thing, one will extremely likely turn out to be better, so such an update would very likely end up with (1) the new way is dead content for being "really slow" or (2) the new way turns out to be preferable for so many players like yourself that the old way becomes devalued. I get where you're going with the idea, but it's rather hard to deliver accurately enough.


Its currently pretty inconsistent to compared how other two shields are charged. Thats one reason why I did ask this.

Edit: Its more about existing as method, not about being in line with fossil way. Buying numulites from GE will be the fastest method always.

I'm glad you approve :) Fortunately there isn't a deadline beyond which released content can never be tweaked. It'd have been nice to do sooner, of course, but these weren't the only things players wanted us to work on at the time.

Yes - in fact I linked someone to that blog to read about it, just above your post. It's not started production yet, but that is indeed what we intend to do with the area.

I've already been enjoying the Fossil Island content- particularly drift net fishing & the Sulliuscep mushrooms.

The new updates look good. Having the deranged archaeologist moved a bit south will make it a lot easier. He had sorted me out a few times.

One minor improvement might be a "don't ask me again" option on the drift net banking, but all in all, it's much better, so I'm not complaining.

Osrs mobile is supposed to be released January 2018 but there hasn't been a peep of it and won't be til like the 28th saying 'uh we're sorry we felt each other's balls more than our keyboards this month, we'll need to push release back some.'

Overall good update, but I feel the Volcanic Mine has a problem currently with communication. Most games are free-for-all's where people don't know each other, and the map is so large that you can't communicate with other players using public.

The main consequence of this is that every game is filled with insults and flaming, because players aren't coordinated and they get frustrated with each other. The environment there right now is pretty toxic and I feel it takes away from the enjoyment of the minigame. Perhaps linking games to clan chats or intertwining the minigame with the clan system in some way could help solve that.
