@Mod Ash

Quick question please :)

I was wondering why the "In game" poll calculates out its percentage not including the "skip question". While the Main Website Poll takes "skip question" into account? I ask because including "skip question" on the main site skews both "yes" and "no". So while an "in game" poll may say "yes at 78 %" thus indicating the poll "passed". The website poll page will show that it instead "failed" at 73%.
The website is wrong because it take into account the skip option.

Thanks for the response. Yeah, I was mostly referring to those one or two spots. For me, those two spots were quite literally undoable until I had a weird fluke break in lag. Even a half second to a second of delay was more than enough to decrease my chance of success to 0. I guess some things just require reliable internet, not a lot that can be done to accommodate that.

Me too. There is a spot (that is the fifth move for me) in where you have to lure him where (based on the hint arrow) you're only a few spaces away from him and are on a diagonal (standing on a dead-end pier, SE of him). No matter what I do, I can't move away quickly enough and I get hit. Every. Single. Time. The actual distance isn't any closer than a couple of moves previously where I can get out of the way fine. There just isn't enough time for me to move from clicking on the emote to clicking onto the correct space to move away. I even see the "Ow" definitely before the spear has hit me, it says "Ow" as soon as I hit the emote. I simply can't get past this point. It looks like there's something going wrong here, it seems to be hitting me too early. I've tried this many, many times and it's exactly the same result each time, I get "Ow" as soon as I hit the emote and I can see the spear still coming towards me. Please could you look at this? I have very good internet connectivity, by the way.

@Mod Ash That Halloween event has to be one of the most challenging events thus far. I spent easily 2 hours underwater trying to lure the killer into the trap. I'd say it was one of most challenging holiday events.

Just started working on the Halloween Event. I'm not far into it, just finished making the potion. Evidently Death doesn't want it and it can't be used on the ghost, so I'm not really sure what to do with it (I can't drink it either, and the examination text says I don't want to anyways lol). I'm gonna have to put it on hold for a few hours though. I have a parade-festival thing to go to or something like that. All you can eat pancakes are involved, so yeah. Loving the Friday the 13th theme, though (tomberries referring to Tommy Jarvis?)! Looking good so far (just gotta figure out the deal with this potion).

What a shame something that should have been a 'holiday event' is so obviously broken (and yes, I've had the exact same problem you describe here).

I've seen video of osb users and they don't have any problem with this area.. what a shame jagex can't fix it.

Well, I finished the Halloween Event yesterday afternoon, but I wanted to come back and provide some quick feedback. Overall, I thought it was fun and enjoyed the Friday the 13th theme, but in comparison to last year's event (Misthalin Mystery), which was based on Scream, and the only reason I'm making this comparison is because we're doing horror franchise themes now, it wasn't nearly as good -- the entire mansion was a puzzle, from room to room (in the vein of Resident Evil, even), the challenge had a better flow in the way the clues were presented, and the final confrontation had a great setup and pay-off: this year didn't.

Here there be spoilers:

This event had a very weak setup. You only see Jason Jonas (I get it's an anagram of Jason, but I could only imagine the Jonas brothers and was just thinking, what's he gonna do? Camp Rock me to death?) once before the confrontation and we have no indication what he's doing in the fairly long meantime before the confrontation. Wouldn't it have made more sense for him to actually chase us around like in the movies?

The confrontation was even incredibly anticlimactic: once again, instead of actually chasing us, we engage in this ridiculous Scooby Doo-like underwater exchange where he occasionally throws a harpoon at us for taunting him. I can literally walk through him without consequence. He should've been chasing us. The underwater area was just mechanical hell. It was arbitrary, bothersome, illogical (you even had to program hint arrows, which is an indication of how bad this was imo) and just didn't really work out. Just because Jason is trapped beneath a lake half-the-time doesn't mean this event needed this convoluted underwater scenario.

There were even narrative errors like Death not realizing Jarvis was dead (nothing you say will make me buy that). I still liked the event, but it could've been done way better.

Halloween event feedback.

Spoilers hidden in case you haven't done it yet.

I got really annoyed being told to taunt Jonas from the indicated spot when there no indicated spot yet, because the arrow hint was not showing yet and it was not obvious where to stand.

Still fun, but could have been more clear where to stand to taunt Jonas. As already said by another player, the fact a hint arrow was needed is evidence it was not obvious where you should stand without it.

Guessing where to taunt Jonas from was difficult, it was not always by coral, not always where a dot was on the floor, not always at the end of the next passage, sometimes you had to go a couple paths over and stand somewhere that was not obvious, and it was frustrating having to wait for the arrow to tell me where the game wanted me to taunt him from and made little sense.

I almost expected the other NPC who was supposed to help us kill Jonas to turn out to be Jonas since he survived and no one else did, that would have been an interesting twist, and I was almost disappointed that didn't turn out to be the case. It would have made sense, except for his being alive, but he could have been a ghost who only appeared alive but wasn't really.

The taunting part and having to move immediately after playing an emote is not good for players who lag or who have slow reaction times, it could become frustrating and difficult or impossible to complete for some players.

Over all a fun Halloween event. It would have been nice for it to have been a little more clear where to stand for taunting Jonas so we would not have needed the arrow hint.
Hi.
