...why are we in support of tick-manipulation methods?
Tick manipulation is both bug abuse
and
incredibly unfriendly to players in terms of gameplay. Nobody enjoys tick manipulation, the community is simply glad to have some way to get increased exp rates.
As an example, If there was a method where the player had to press a key 5 times per second to get 25% more exp, people would do it. Engagement does equate to content that is good for the game. Blizzard recently had a huge issue with this in their last expansion with player-owned mission tables. Engagement rates were through the roof, but only because they were efficient for player progression. Players actually
hated
the mission tables, they just participated because they were heavily incentivized to do so.
These "methods," and I put them in quotes on purpose, should be slowly replaced with
actual
competitive content instead of being treated like something that they aren't.
"Tick manipulation of Teaks" should at
NO POINT
fall into an official table of exp rates across level bands, nor should 1-tick fishing, mining, or box trapping.
I expect to get some hate for this post but I want you guys to think about one thing:
Which is better for the game and how much we enjoy playing it?
-Tick manipulation for increased exp rates on outleveled content
-Increased exp rates on level appropriate content
