The new challenges given:

- These will be seperate to the current slayer task you might have though you could do a regular task here?
- Up to 5 people ( more/less? idk) may enter a cavern together.

1. Slayer slaughter - You will all be put into a huge cavern (replica of upass bottom floor perhaps)
and a huge amount of monsters will be placed in there with you. 300 dark beasts, 200 iron drags etc
We could even have mixes. You will have the target of clearing the cavern as fast as possible, if you can.
The amounts/creatures will depend upon the partys combat & selected difficulty.

2. King of the cavern - You choose the monster, your party will placed in a smaller
chamber however you will be bombarded completely by the chosen monster. The last
one alive wins.

3. Story mode - You will be given waves of slayer monsters, up to 30 waves at which point a
huge dark beast will stir, this will have the mechanics of jad.

4. Exploration mode - You can explore a cavern freely, the cavern has 4 floors each with more &
stronger slayer creatures than the last though once you have killed them all, the floor reaches 100%
completion which kicks you out of the dungeon. Going back is impossible for now but if you listen really carefully
you can hear fainting roaring, like that of a mithril dragon yet somehow different.

The exp rates

Now we have to be careful here because it cant be better than regular slayer.
It also needs to worth playing though.
Points (not task points) could be earned and spent on rewards/xp?
The xp needs to be very carefully chosen though.

The rewards

Well theres lots of things that could be added in a point shop.
Whilst in the cavern the monsters will have there usual drops.

rewards could be permanent unlock of tasks/areas (new areas with cannonable creatures)
other rewards from smoking kills
an item enhancement
personalisation of gear i.e coloured whip
Supplies/xp lamps

This isn't necessarily a content idea, but more of a small helper to the game in general.

Make it so that when you join OsRs and make a new character, you recieve 14 days free membership. As we know, many people do not want to play due to membership costs because they cannot afford it or just do not want to pay it, since they don't know if they will regret paying it or not.

This is the perfect time to implement this system, because of a couple things.

1. F2P is on a scale of (1- Mod Mark Gerhard) atm. You never know when the company will decide to let F2P become a REAL thing, so why not let the players that wish to play, create an account for 14 days of free play, and then decide on their fate.
2. Gwd has just been released and with PvP worlds on the horizon, there could not be a better time to use this system due to the fact that 2 very addictive things will have (or be close to have been) added to the game

3. It will help the overall health of the game in general. Lets face it, on a good day (Saturday or Sunday) there is an average of 14k players on. That is not a lot, manageable, but not alot. We need to stunt the player growth if OsRs is to remain successful.

I believe that this could serve as a permanent thing, or just a very good transition over until we have F2P.

idea 2:

The concept:

A knight & reknowned monster hunter has finally laid down his sword, not
through defeat or old age but because they have literally been there done that
& got every t shirt along the way. They have killed numerous amounts of every
creature the lands of gielinor offer.

Luckily for intrigued beastologists, the unnamed knight has kept notes & a list of
the monsters they have slain, however, unluckily for them, the knight has no wish to share his knowledge with just anyone!

The player, passing through varrok happens upon the curator of the museum who seems to be quite anxious to speak with you. He tells of a secret mission, only for the brave & learned of warriors. Naturally, you accept. He tells of a powerful knight who has spread news of their work (in limited amounts) & is now searching for a young brave fighter to take under their wing, to teach them & train them in the ways of advanced slaying.

The curator wants you to not only become that apprentice but to report back the details to the museum to expand their knowledge.



The playthrough:
The player would recieve a mission set for example:

Kill 10 lesser demons (amt could vary but generally shouldnt be too large)
Kill 5 mithril dragons ( different difficulty settings)
Kill 15 ducks ( The opposite end of the difficulty setting)
Kill 1 yanillian tree (loljks)
Defeat all the brothers of the barrows, without eating. ( special challenges)

Once the mission is complete the player could return to either the knight or the museum to recieve their next challenge & their reward.

Extra concept stuff

The book of monsterage could have lots & lots of sections, to complete said book you could have too:

- Kill atleast one of every viable creature in game.
- Kill boss monsters with various restrictions
- Complete speed challenges ( such as kill 4 fire giants in under 1 min)
- Im sure more could be thought up.....with time & input.

These challenges/monsters could be split up into sections, each section req'ing the following:

- Completion of other sections to allow advancement
- A certain cb lvl
- for some sections a certain slay level, the final section would req 90 slayer.

This allows a level of progression as the player progresses but also allows the player to actually be able to complete the challenges.

These challenges wouldnt actually take too long to complete individually but collectively would be similar to the task sets.



The rewards:

Possible rewards:
- @ 85 combat & a certain slay level the knight could offer to keep in contact with
your slayer master, allowing him to track your tasks & offer you points for completing tasks (the slayer point system), these points could be spent on blocking tasks/skipping them, quicker killing blows & perhaps other balanced slay point rewards.

- As completion of the book goes along more block spots & better point earnings could be unlocked.

- As you complete more of the book, you could have certain items enhanced, such as excalibur/cannon's cball amt that canbe put in/holy wrench could be expanded to affect super restores/perhaps others that i cant think of atm.

- The knight will either teach you of a dungeon that has a new creature in that drops hexcrest/focus sight or adds these to an existing drop table.

The museum:

In exchange for leaking your mission lists (in actuality the info isnt top secret, its just your completed missions) the museum will share some research with you about a new helmet, the slayer helmet.

Pieces could be added through completion of the book for example the nose peg would be added later than earmuffs.

A certain amt of kudos.

A single flask that holds 6 doses.

Knowledge of an excavation into a certain well in the desert where perhaps some slayer npc's could reside..

I don't think we should add anything like Assault, because that is the same principals of Castle Wars. And personally I think there should not be anything like dung, or summoning. I like the idea of bringing back Fist of Guthix, as it is fun and exciting for all leveled players with fair amounts of Xp given.

New shields+blood soaking+new dragons?

While this idea can be spread to be anything, I would rather see what the community would find best for it.

The idea behind blood soaking or whatever you would like to call it, is close to soul split but the only difference is, it's not a prayer.....or maybe it is? Of course there will be requirements which i feel should require a certain amount of quest points (around 150+?) The item idea would be attachable to any weapon or if the community feels the godswords shouldn't be an option then anything besides those.

Here are some different variations of how it can work:

1.) When any damage is delt, you get back a certain percentage of health
2.) the very first hit you do, you get back in Hp over a period of time or a percentage of that hit over time
3.) If possible, there can be a shield and these items to attach dropped from new bosses. The shield could be something that absorbs damage like spirit shields or just absorb the damage and transfer it between hp and prayer when activated. This can even be connected to fist of guthix in which you have to charge the shield here and each charge would last for maybe 30 seconds? And the shield would also have a cool down time before the next one can be used. The shields stats would also be in variation like the spirit shields. There can be 4 shields:

1.) This will be the cheapest but this shield has good mage def with no att bonuses and the charge cooldown time will be double vs the other 3
2.) Mage shield (like arcane) has mage att bonuses along with decent def bonus but less than the dfs with maybe extra melee def and less range
3.) Range shield (like ely) has range att bonus+ same def as mage but with less melee def and more mage def
4.) Melee shield (like divine) has melee bonuses+ a bit of str like DFS but with less mage bonus+more range def.
The possible boss to drop these? Addy, rune, draconic dragons or a new crystal dragon that has those forms. Continued.

Continued of new shields+new dragons+crystal halberd

Now about these new dragon or dragons. There can either be a dungeon of them in which each section has addy, rune, draconic and crystal dragons with each having requirements to enter like slayer requires you to have that level before you can deal damage to that monster. The other option is making a boss (which i like) that is a crystal dragon which has the other 3 forms. Each form (like the dag mother) has a weakness that you must use in order to hit.

1.) Addy can be the special ability of the 1st shield i described in my last post and all styles would hit here.
2.) Rune would take on the ability of the mage shield and it would be best to range here...also the dragon would use mage attacks
3.) Draconic would take over the range shields ability and of course use range attacks, making it best to melee this form
4.) Crystal would take over the melee shields ability and of course will use some sort of ranged attack that melees you or can bring all players to melee range and bind them there for this phase and also making it best to mage here.

As for my tools idea, maybe that should be one item with that ability or maybe something different but.

THE NEW CRYSTAL HALBERD!

This halberd can be dropped by the dragon as well if its in boss form or if the community would rather see the 4 separate in rooms...dropped by the crystal dragon. The melee shield can be dropped by a 5th dragon thats above draconic but below crystal. Of course the stats will be better than the dragon halberd but this item degrades. You will need to talk to the elf to charge it and upon death, it reverts back to a seed if not protected. Also maybe the dragon can drop crystal shard pieces to put it together rather than 1 seed drop? The ability would be using the special to convert any damage within that time to hp and/or have the option to make it prayer instead like the staff of light 1 min melee spec also potential to hit twice.
