I had to ask to get my thread closed because of the debates and hates from having posted this appreciation message, but I'd still like to post it here in your thread so you see it:

I'd just like to thank the developers for this amazing and inspiring event, it was comforting, seeing the progress it has made throughout the years.

The word ''gay'' used to be censored everywhere on RuneScape and now not only it is uncensored on forums, but you've made a pride event :D ! This means so much to me and many of my runescape friends to know that my favourite game is supportive, so thank you.

Now, I beg you, please don't let the trolls and haters stop you from doing it again next year.

MMK had a length discussion with players about the event on reddit (which, let's face is, has a much larger OSRS community than the RSOF). You can read his responses here: https://www.reddit.com/r/2007scape/comments/6fnww4/pride_2017/

The problem was that the community wasn't open to that. Far too many people preferred to act like children and not look at the 'issue' rationally. Almost all of the 'outrage' over the event was gone the second it actually entered the game, showing how irrational their fears were to begin with.

I think it's a bit condescending to try to write it off as "irrational fears" and an overwhelming denial that anybody could possibly disagree on any grounds.. I mean.. we're talking about an 'event' that was supposed to represent 'diversity' and 'inclusivity' and it seems to have accomplished.. neither. The only thing "equal" in all of it.. was the 'hate' from both sides.. and there's no denying that that was absolutely accomplished.

In which case.. I'd have to say if "equal hate" is what you actually accomplish.. you've clearly done something wrong and you should try harder next time to ensure that that isn't the message delivered..

Unless of course, that's the message you are trying to get across.

I'm not saying the message was wrong.. just that the 'messenger' was so inexperienced that the message was lost in translation.. and it's ok that we don't agree rising.. we are, after all, DIFFERENT people (and I'm open to everyone having their own opinion without simply writing it off as 'irrational fear' simply because I don't understand someone else's point of view). =)

edit for clarity

Well.. The Free Weekend is a great opportunity for F2P-players to experience what P2P has to offer,
BUT
it also opens the opportunity for botters to bot their way to affording a bond to continue botting when the Free Weekend closes. Just take a look at Catherby.. Crowded with Lvl-3 botters.

In my opinion, adding an account restriction won't help at all. They're always planning to succeed botting regardless of whether there is restrictions or not. You set the restriction to only accounts made before the 5th of June got access, but you know the botters will plan this way ahead and make bot-accounts before the set date so they're getting access to the P2P content anyways.

It's easy to ban bots, but you know as much as we players that we'll never get rid of the huge bot problem we're experiencing
(maybe one day)
, but to open the P2P-service was senseless in my opinion. Sometimes we need to be more consistently over the actions made. It's a huge experience for our legit players to experience paid content, but the outcome of this weekend was both great and bad.

I'm not salty or angry - I just wanted to point out the facts and tell my opinions.

But other than that,

Players who's not bothering doing anything at the Pest Control deserves no points.

- Great that you've updated Pest Control!

Keep up the good work.

It's funny how many of the people criticizing the Rainbow scarf event cite their chief reason being it offends their religion. In other words, they're forcing their religion's standards (and not the tolerant ones either, like 'Do unto others...' but the bigoted ones) onto Jagex and the likely majority of people who are accepting of the minorities in question.

Might I remind that not only are said minorities themselves accepted as members of the general community by a vast majority of Americans and Europeans (the biggest player-bases of RS), but even official marriage being possible for such couples is agreed on by a majority. Those of you categorically against them are in a small, radical minority, and it would be a poor ethical AND business decision to cater to your ilk.

This is almost as stupid a debate as whether or not climate change is real -- and like it, it should have transcended political juxtapositioning a long time ago.

Original message details are unavailable.
A few weeks ago we mentioned that we felt it would be good for the Void mage set to have more of a benefit. It currently gives a 30% buff to your Magic stat when calculating your magical accuracy, but has no effect on damage. We will be putting together another poll soon, and we welcome any discussion and suggestion pertaining to any buff we offer.

You might particularly like to consider ways that the elite set could be made more beneficial than the standard Void kit, reflecting its higher requirements.

What? A poll..for actual mage buffs? Not biased towards melee or range? I am impressed and surprised.

Anyway, it's simple.

Mage Void: 10% mage damage- to claws of guthix only
Elite Mage Void: 10% mage damage to claws of guthix, 5% damage to all other spells

keep accuracy of both the same. Most of the damage being limited to CoG and the accuracy remaining the same would prevent any balance issues while still providing it with a niche use.
OSRS Mage Tank.

Believe magic to only be for support? Think again. It's just as valid of a Pking style as melee and range is.
