To fix the problem about not needing the exact amount the person is selling, perhaps have it work like the Grand Exchange in that fashion?

Since it's instantaneous, it shouldn't be a problem.

For example:

Seller is selling 60 items.

I buy 55.

Seller is now selling 5 items.

Since the trading is, as I've said, instantaneous, the low amount shouldn't discourage people from buying those remaining 5 items from him.

Unfortunately it almost needs to work this way to prevent manipulation. It'd be extremely easy for an extremely rich player to sit there buying every whip that enters the house for under 1.5m each, and then just continuously stacking whips to sell at 1.5m+ each. If hes forced to sell them one at a time taking up a slot each (because really whos going to buy more than 1 whip at a time realistically?) it'll be a lot more difficult to manipulate.

Problem is it will work in the reverse for resources. Say I'm going for 99 hunter, I get 99 and put 40k black chins up for X each. I either have to take up all 6 of my slots with a 1k, 1k, 3k, 5k, 10k, 20k offer and hope that's what people want (which would be spamming the sell offers, knocking everyone elses off the page - not exactly fair) or wait for someone to want to buy 40k black chins. The chances are slim, and now anyone else selling black chins will naturally lower their price a few gp lower than mine. Eventually resources crash

Will vote against it as I don't want trading to occur when not online after all not progressing through the game is when not playing is why bots are illegal. Second I will vote against as I don't want any automated system. Show a list of offerings like craigs and then make players add the person and decide on a meeting location. Anything else is simply a revamped GE which wont pass.

I also think the offline function needs to go away. That's horrific. If that stays in I'm voting no. If it passes, I'm out.

I don't quite understand how a buyer would be able to buy something offline if they have to choose a player to trade with. Or is it a case of specifying the price you would like to buy for and waiting for someone to match that price?

Buying just opens a list of all the current sellers. You'd not be able to buy things while being offline, however you'd be able to sell items if you needed to go offline.

So, essentially, only sellers are going to complete transactions whilst offline? Just seems like a weaker version of the G.E. in my opinion.

I think thats part of what makes it better. Being able to purchase items while offline was kinda meh. Could log in and craft my limit worth of hides, logout and log back in later after I purchased more hides. At least this way I need to be online to purchase the items in the market.

I suppose you're right now I think about it: it would take away a certain degree of work when it came to skilling which perhaps would not be in the spirit of the game.

They won't go down unless the demand dictates it though. Since people can throw chinchompas faster than you can catch them, their price is more in line with the demand than the supply.

I think its unrealistic to think that the undercutting will be severe and cause much in long term price changing, that'll be more likely to happen for other reasons. People aren't going to sell black chins for 600 gp each if they're worth 900 each just because of some undercutting.

Besides, you can leave your chat on and talk with players if they only want to buy a few of your chinchompas and then you can meet them in game to sell less than the full stack. Otherwise if you want to not deal with people then I think dividing up your stack to sell slightly less efficiently is a fair trade off.
