I posted earlier but honestly this is messed up just keep the system the same. Too much manipulation happens and a huge reason people wanted oldschool back was for this reason, the way we trade. Lets do a re vote. We dont need offline trading. This will just allow goldfarmers to sell easier and make more money. The current way is more natural for real life and online gaming. Face to face must stay with no middlman.

This better be polled!
I will vote a big fat "NO!" because anything that even resembles GE is NOT okay!
OSRS is supposed to be 2007 version of the game! There was no GE in 2007! This ruins the game! Don't even think about adding it! Don't even think about changing it and then adding it! Only a direct player-to-player trade system will do!

I suggest a better solution. Have players post up what they are buying or selling in an auction, but only the player's name is available. You must go to the player (or have them come to you) and do the trade directly. This will be both convenient and preserve the oldschool look and feel.

@Mod mat K: At first, I think that this auction systems looks nice, although I have some questions about it.

1) What if you add this piecemeal option and someone buys every whip under 2m and then sells one huge stack of whips at 2m with this piecemeal option, this would be easy to manipulate in that way and thats just one person doing it, imagine 10 people at a time doing it... For this I think that there should be some presets to sell it (10, 100 and 1000) instead of this piecemeal option. Lets say you have 10000 saradomin brews and you want to sell them, obviously no one is going to buy those all at once, so lets say you have some options to sell it like 10x 1000 or 100x 100 or 100x 10 in one slot. It should show in the list like 100x 100 saradomin brews then and this way people can easily buy 10, 100 or 1k of them when a guy is selling a lot of this item and manipulation gets avoided.

2) And what if the players doesn't want this offline trading option and this is removed. Will the offer be declined or will it continue to sell when I get back online? Because if I was selling some whips that I just got of my slayer task and then I go to godwars and I hop worlds later, it would suck if my offer gets deleted then isn't it? Or if a player needs to hop a lot, it would be annoying to see the offer getting removed and posted again when trying to buy some of it.

3) What if no1 sells the item you want at a certain time?? It should be nice to be able to post a text or something that you would like to buy one or so.

To end with: At all those ppl saying that osrs doesn't need a trading solution:
I've spend most of my time online the past week by selling saradomin brews, because I just got 99 herblore and had a lot of those. So is this what this game is about then?? Spending all you're time just because you can't get rid of them?? If you still think it doesn't need a trading system, then get 99 herblore or so and try and sell you're pots and after that we'll talk again ;)

I love the auction house in WoW, i find it works really well and seeing how this system is similar you guys have my full support for exactly whats described in the dev blog (with the option to buy portions of offers). I don't think there should be a tax or a time limit on sell offers.

The main thing i want the AH for is buying little things, buying stuff not a lot of people are selling and the ease of selling things myself. If trades get taken out after X amount of hours its still going to be difficult to buy some items, particularly random quest/clue items. Maybe a time limit of 2-5 days would be fine, anything shorter is going to sacrifice connivence, and isn't that what this update is all about?

does it look like i've struck gold here?

This makes me frustrated a bit. I thought the idea for 2007scape/Old School, was to be Old School. The more content being added, especially this newly found 'Grand Exchange' is slowly making the game lose it's flavor again. RS3 pushed me out because of the complexity, and because I had to learn a handful of things in order to even figure out how to log out. Old School Runescape is fun because of the simplicity, and it seems to be burning out. My rant/feelings won't make a difference on the community, but I feel that the idea of this 'GE' should be voted on and not passed unless 80+% of the community agrees. My opinion is all I have, thanks for reading. ^_^

Original message details are unavailable.
"Players have also asked for the trade to expire a certain amount of time after a player has gone offline - how long do you think is suitable?"

5 minutes max...like the afk timer is. Plenty of time to hop worlds, and still have your trade remain in play.

I'll support this just because I want this trade solution to pass.
