What the heck Jagex!? No! This is not at all okay, this is not Old School. If I want an "auction house" I'll go to RS3 where I can use the GE (that destroyed the economy). That's part of the fun of Old School, that trading is difficult, you gotta actually converse with people, look around, use outside sources to get what you're looking for. Everything's not just handed to you like in RS3. I will be beyond angry if anything like this is actually introduced.

Something else that bothers me about this 'Auction' house, there is no auction.

Shouldn't an auction sell to the highest bid? and shouldn't it have a specific length of time that the auction is being held for? Say, 24 hours for a short auction, 48 hours for a long one.

Player 1 lists an auction for item X, it has a street value of 1m. he puts in a starting bid of 900k so that it gets some action.

Player 2 sees this auction and bids 900k hoping to get it cheap.

Player 3 sees that the bid is currently 900k and bids 910k, out bidding player 2.

Player 4 bids 925k out bidding player 3.

Player 2 doesn't like getting out bid and ups the bid to 940k.

Player 3 doesn't want to bid any higher and finds another auction for the same item and bids on it instead.

Player 5 waits until the time limit is just about ready to run out and bids 941k at the last second and wins that auction.

Just sayin', an auction house without an auction is just a GE.

Second issue, buy offers and sell offers on the same feature, if it's an auction house why can you list want to buy adds?

Shouldn't it be sell offers only?

Sellers could list things and have them go to auction whilst off line but they pay a time penalty, they have to wait for it to close.

Buyers will need to be online to bid but they too will have to pay a time penalty and wait for the auction to close and if they are offline they can be out bid.

Meanwhile players that want it right now will look to the market place forums here on the official site or on a third party or will use standard methods of trading.
Ha ha, made you look ;)

If you can buy items directly from it will never support that.

G.E. ruined the economy.. the ONLY!! keyword ONLY!! reason it was even added was to assist in Combating Real World Trading (RWT). Along with the Assist System, Removal of Free Trade, Removal of Wilderness, and a few other updates I do not remember.

The only changes you honestly need are the following.

1. A better chat filter system which also filters the text above head. Allow comma support or space support to separate keywords. As well as a cleanup on how this is all added it looks quite messy in my opinion and rushed.

2. Ability to see chat of person currently within your trade or whom has trade you within the "Trade" screen. So even players not yet in your trade.

Please do not make massive game changing updates. I could careless if you throw in 1000's of updates into this game, but huge ones like this take their toll in the long run.

Updates like these prevent the players from interacting more with each and ultimately destroy the community. When will you guys learn back in 2006-2007 there was 250k+ player sure half of them were RWTers, but the community back then was spot on for a game to have. The game lost that community in 2007 when the RWT updates where put into place! Then the G.E. just destroy the economy I mean come on many items gained 100% - 10,000% their current values and gold is worth nothing. Skilling became a breeze and the graphic overhauls are so bad its near impossible to play on most computers or you have to edit/delete all kinds of files to make it actually run/load.

What happen to the intuitive Jagex company that I once remembered and looked up to.

Tell me, in which way is this direct trading? All you see is that person's name. Please tell me you're not considering this.

Offline trading and cross-world trading is for the lazy horse, please don't make Old School another lazy game for lazy people. Instead, I have a proposal.

Let people write themselves on a board setup in Varrock, Falador, Ardougne etc.

You can then enter what item you are selling, how many, what price, and what world you are on. The offers would then be up until you logged out.

Roadrunner is right,

this new system would be stupid, why?

because a lot people wich use zyb just overbidding anothers with a couple k's in this way its just time waste, ofc you can get items directly but i'm sure people will ask a lot for that item... while anothers will troll the offers.
(friends manipulation offer to help other friends to get ride of that item)

Just Bring G.E. or nothing simply

Can you plz not place this where the ge was on the main game..my reasons because well.....this isnt the ge lol.. plus these are 2 different games so i would like it to be unique and be placed in a different location on the map :P .

Also some feedback i think you should design the auction house to look like something that might be or might look like what an auction house design would look like in the medievil times.

Also the last part or msg you asked us at the end of the dev blog about how long someone would have their offer up posted on the auction house after they go offline.. I think that should be 6hrs until it is pernamentally removed then they have to repost it up.. To me the 6hr mark makes sense as its almost like the 6hr logout time that kicks you off runescape if you've been online more then 6hrs so it only makes sense to me, but rather then being 6hrs to kick you offline when online the 6hrs is to dlt your trading post when offline :P .
