I swear there was a well advertised poll which we voted on and f2p access at all had to reach a certain criteria. In fact significant updates had to reach a certain criteria. I specifically didn't vote until it was guaranteed those criteria would not be met and as such I am wonder why were those criteria made in the first place when they are turning out to be nothing but lies?

we need a seperate site for the forums and our own adventures log! This can also attract more new players, and let us finally forget the horrible game called rs3. we dont want to use the rs3 forums for OSRS!!!!

+1

If I tell a friend, even friends that used to play RS to go to oldschool.runescape.come they think it's a hacksite, next to that it's such a long URL it's quite hard to remember.

The next step in the story of our website is that a funnel is being created to help players get into game more easily. This should be with us before the F2P trial starts. This is obviously our priority. Once this has happened, we can start looking at the website.

There is also a large button that says Old School on www.runescape.com, so you can always direct suspicious friends there.

well if you can't deal with bot issue how about make only accounts that are 3-12 months old able to get on f2p theme worlds

makes more risk when caught botting

yes they can easy make alot f2p accounts and wait but you could also flag isp doing this can you not???

Although bonds on the outside seem like a good concept for the majority of players who don't want to pay for membership with real life money, you have to remember that to bring a bond into the game somebody has to spend REAL LIFE MONEY for which they essentially RECEIVE A CASH VALUE in game*

**; DR - Bonds = legal RWT

Things do change over time and no one can deny that the community who play the game would like free to play. Of course, not everyone does but enough do to make us investigate the possibility properly.

I really think it would be an incredibly smart move to think about adding something like bonds at the same time. You don't lose any revenue because someone has to pay for the bond for it to exist in game, and it will give a lot of the new F2Pers a goal to achieve enough money for a bond in their first two weeks, especially if it is made clear that they exist in old school upon the release of F2P. These of course should only be able to be used on membership, nothing else.

Having a method for players to use their GP to buy their membership would be fantastic. If the community are comfortable with bonds being bought for real money in Old School then we'd add it to the next poll.

People would vote no for bonds to be in game though if you can buy them with irl gp also.

Since you can buy gp then pretty much.

It was clear in the dev blog that rwt already exists - 17billion GP was taken from real world traders. If this is already happening 'under the table' then it would be much safer for players to be able to buy bonds from Jagex. Also, bonds would severely decrease the demand for gold from the goldsellers because bonds will be safer to buy, meaning hopefully less goldfarming bots and less people RWTing their winnings from staking etc.

I think the Old School team would need to make all of the benefits of bonds clear to the players before polling them though.

yea i just don't think osrs players would vote it though, I support it though bonds was a good update on rs3.

This limits on who have access to F2P worlds is partly bot related but also to protect the revenue that Old School generates. If enough members became F2P to make Old School no longer profitable, the support would be taken away which would impact on the updates you get.
