Instead of the Dragon & Infernal harpoon, scrap that idea and bring in a (Dragon) Tacklebox. Allow the Tacklebox to hold one of every fishing tool, with the 20% catch rate increased on any item inside the box. This would give value to the raid reward, and be beneficial to all fishermen.

Currently I can only see the Dragon harpoon being useful for shark fishers, and the Infernal is completely useless, as anyone who fishes Sharks most likely is going to want to keep their fish to sell, or gain cooking exp, and profit. Tuna and swordfish are not great exp per hour, therefore the average player will never use the infernal harpoon.

I like this idea, and you brought up some good points. I also agree with you on the infernal harpoon, if I'm fishing sharks I'm going to want to keep all of them.

Why does the harpoon have a fishing requirement of 75? Why is it not just 61?
Where is the rune harpoon? Where is the adamantite harpoon? Where is ...?
Why a harpoon? Why no rod? Why no lobster pot?
Why infernal? What use is fire when you continuously dip it in water?

This has got to be the most ridiculously stupid reward yet.

Hello, I am not one to normally post on forums about upcoming updates as I feel as if my thoughts are not heard and I'm just wasting my time, like when I tried getting in contact with someone about a problem with my account and have yet to hear back from it. Even after multiple emails and tickets. That being said, I must at least try to give you my ideas of what would be better to do with these new gear sets and items. I can't let this game get destroyed too without actually trying to prevent it.

Here are my thoughts:

The Dragon Harpoon:
Why is this a level 75 item when dragon is for level 60 (61skills)? This should be a level 61 skilled weapon with reduced effectiveness (20%) reduced to 10%. This would allow for a Crystal harpoon for level 71 or 75(Since crystal skill items aren't introduced yet) skills that could then give the 20% increase. The dragon harpoon should remain tradable, used with a smoldering stone to cook fish at the same percentage. On top of this, the Crystal (Future) harpoon should also cook at the same rates, just increased catch rate. In order to make the Crystal Harpoon, you should have to use a Crystal harpoon casing on a dragon harpoon to upgrade it. This would then require the past BIS item as well as require you to purchase from another player or receive the casing from a rarer drop or bought with some kind of elven currency/points (Maybe even a drop from a new elven crystal boss from a possible new quest). After turning it into a Crystal harpoon, It should then become un-tradable and if lost in wilderness, turn to coins. In order to remove the casing off the Crystal harpoon and turn it back into two tradable items, it should have a 50% chance of dissembling them and leaving you with both pieces if success or 0 to 1 piece if failed.

This would keep the items at a decent price and as a drop would ensure you are making money. Idea for all tools.

! I will continue in a new post !

To continue my idea from the previous post after running out of space to write.

All new BIS armor:

New melee gear: With any new BIS armor, we know what happens to the past rare and great armor. This being said, just like the Dragon Harpoon and Crystal Harpoon, it should be an add on. Just like armor from the old ages, there was an inside of the armor, not just metal on skin. Therefor to make the new BIS melee gear, it should require a Bandos piece with a new armor casing/shell over that to provide the boost in stats. If you want to make the new BIS platebody, you'll need the prior BIS, which is a bandos chestplate (allowing them to keep their value), and on top of that, you'll need to attach a chestplate armor casing to the bandos chestplate to upgrade it to the new BIS. This armor casing can be from the Raids or whatever you guys have in mind for this. My reasoning for writing all this is to keep the recent BIS, still of value. After making this chestplate it then becomes un-tradable. Before combining both pieces, they both are tradable, but after, the new body becomes un-tradable. To make the items tradable again, there should be a disassemble option. It should be a 50% or 75%(Depending on how rare and expensive the new pieces are) chance to receive both pieces back, and if you fail, you get 0 or 1 pieces back. This would keep prices on the gear at a normal or high price allowing for people doing the PvM content to be able to make money. It would keep GWD active since the drops are still great and the new armor casings priceya s well, just like they should be.

This idea should travel with all gear sets, Bandos and Armady. Maybe adding a lvl 65 Dark Zamorakian mage gear set to the Zamorak boss since he seems to be the mage boss. This then would allow for the upgradable version with a casing from Raids.

For all future years BIS items, it could possibly then require upgrading the gear more.

To continue my post even further (Page3) since running out of characters to write.

New BIS Weapons:
Now you're wondering, well, you gave us ideas about the skilling tools and armor, but what should we do with the new BIS weapons?! Well, you guessed it, something pretty much the same!

First off, I will say what I think is GOOD and doesn't need to be changed, in my opinion:
- Dragon Hunter Crossbow
- Dinh's Bulwark (As this provides a pure defensive method and doesn't interfere with the DFS)
- Twisted Buckler and any mage alternative shield SHOULD require the use of an Odium or Malediction ward as the main part with the ability to upgrade it with the new Buckler range/mage shield casings. Other than that, those seem fine too.

The Twisted Bow:
This should be a fletched up version (Twisted and upgraded) version of the Dark Bow. The Dark Bow should be the main item here with the addition of a casing and make it TWISTED and allow it to have whatever stats and spec the new BIS will have. This would also make this item un-tradable just like the other things I talked about with maybe the same chance to fail disassembly as the armor since they will be more made/unmade than tools.

A future new BIS staff or weapon?:
The staff could use the current BIS Staff of the Dead, but the melee weapon would be tricky since, what can you make from a whip..nothing much. If there is ever a future melee BIS weapon... It just depends what type, so until I know what type, I can't give any ideas.

On top of all this, I just want to throw in that I think there should be Bronze to Rune mauls, F2P, that require the appropriate attack level to use, but also requiring strength to wield and giving slightly higher strength stats then the appropriate 2h of that range but worse attack bonuses. This way you could hit higher, but less of a chance it happens. Ex, Rune maul, 40a 45str

Just to add this in there, I saw a post about a "Dragon Tackle Box" on the shortened thread. I think this would be a great idea only with 10% increase and use the idea of upgrading it to Crystal later on with the ideas I posted above.

Also, I think Dragon Claws don't belong. Maybe with 2/3 of the spec damage it has, not the full it does now.
