you dont get it.....MERCHING is not a skill your argument is invalid ARE YOU 99 MERCHANTING didnt think so. plus there is no fix.....peirod 0 fix to this issue we will ALWAYS have it might as well make trading less headache for people with full time jobs and responsibilitys you have to think of runescape as a whole most people dont have the time for this hogwash.

I don't think you grasp what people are saying - You are solely arguing the fact that you want this auction house just for the ease of access it gives people. What you don't understand is the fact that at the current time, to merchant, one must take time out of their day to buy the items and flip. This means that they are not skilling and thus have made their account mainly for getting money and then skilling (this is not a bad thing, it is actually smart) But what the auction house will do it allow players to gain tons of money by simply placing offers and walking off- This throws a sort of pseudo-system that is currently in place out of whack. More people will start trying to gain riches from flipping items and less people will want to do the skills that are tedious such as the gathering skills. People will then start relying on bots to produce the items they want to flip and the whole community becomes a combat oriented, merchant driven cesspool that Post-GE was.

This Auction House (with buying options and instant trade features attached to it) really messes up some parts of the game that other players like. It's mainly getting voted up by bot owners who see how the ease will make them more money and players who are too lazy or cannot manage their time enough to get their items from trading. I believe that if an Auction House is introduced it should not be Instant trade with Buying options.. it should be a place where a person ONLINE can post what they are selling and players can meet up.

At the moment it looks like the vote for trading through the trading post is going to miss out by a few %, which is a huge shame since the majority clearly want it...

Yea, the whole 75% crap has been a load.........Jagex should use the numbers as a reference, nothing more.

Random Ideas

A fair compromise would be an Auction House in which players ONLINE could meet and post what they are selling throughout different world numbers.

The Auction house would act like an in-game searchable forums in which people can place offers to buy & sell amounts of goods they need. They would also fill out a location and a world # so that each respective party knows where the other one is.

Jagex could also implement a free Teleport to Auction House that could renew every five minutes and allow players to meet their if either party doesn't or cannot go to the place the other person is.

I believe that after a certain time the offers would get auto deleted so that the player can refresh his offer and adjust the prices to fit the going prices of the items. The offer would vanish after 10 minutes of OFFLINE time but would appear whenever the player logged back on.

This is something that would not be an instant trade but could be a faster solution to the standing in the bank for hours. Players could search for prices, add people or there could be a chat interface that did not require the adding of a player through the Auction House. It could be regulated by jagex and could be a good way of stopping Merchant Bots if jagex could put something in place to catch bots with this interface like the new Auto-Typer does.

All we are doing on this forum is just senseless arguing over something when we could be providing useful information in which the OSRS team could be reading and taking from.

Wow, so far the poll results are so dissappointing... Whats the point in voting yes to question 1 and no to question 4? Do we really want mods to waste developing time on making an ingame ***** which is practically useless...

OMG yes!!! Finally someone with brains!!

Yes! Why is everyone voting no for that?
Everyone was rambling on about how much they want a GE or an easy trade solution and this is it. There is really no point in meeting the other player up because 15 seconds after the trade you forget the guy was even there. That isn't really what I call ''Player interaction''.

Number #1 can still be very efficient without the need of the #4 question. The Auction house would then work like the Buying/Selling forums on other sites but would be safer because it would not be located on a 3rd part site.

If this does happen Jagex would need to implement a system in which offers from people who are currently offline show that the player is not on so you, the player, would not spend time adding players who are offline.

I feel that #1 without #4 would be a very good thing and a compromise to both sides of this argument. It would offer a faster trading system then we have now (Think about having a Teleport to the Auction House where you could trade then when you leave the house it would take you to last known location) and it would be much safer then it is now- we wouldn't have to visit third party sites to find offers because it would all be done by Jagex.

This would keep the nostalgic aspect of trading players face to face intact while adding a new school twist to the game for the ease of access without adding in the G.E. which many players despise

But who would travel to a trading post to search for an item, when they can just have another tab/window open with the ***** price guide and exchange?

I was planning on cancelling my subscription if this was taken too far, with number 4 not passing I am very relieved and happy to continue to play oldschool! So grateful to all of the veterans that voted no to number 4, thank you!
