I think the idea of having a place to post offers in the main game is great. I don't like the idea of offline trading or putting the actual items up for sale while logged out, but at the same time, I don't think logging out should remove the offer.
Maybe if there were a way to advertise the marketing forums more...? Or a way to bring them in game, almost...? Like, a place where you can go and search specific items and it'll match you with good offers? And you can respond to these offers right there and the person will be notified upon speaking to a banker? Or whoever the officials for the auction house are?
Maybe there could be other in game notifications, as well? Like how when items sell in the Grand Exchange in the main game you get a message; a player will receive a message when someone responds to their offers in the auction house.
Just... The main issue is lack of communication all around. It's harder to get your items out there to the specific people that would be interested in buying them. Offline trading makes it... a bit tooooo easy, and also difficult to manage, but... if there were an official way to set up offers in an organized fashion, where you could receive alerts in game and search for the exact items you want etc, that'd be a huge step forward.
I've just returned to the game, btw. I can't believe I left. So much fun.
I wish I could return to the main game as well... maybe someday.
I don't see the point of this. Seriously if you're too lazy to get your quest items by yourself than you're the problem. The game itself is long and not easy at all. Since 2007 the game itself became easier. I don't want this in oldschool. Some people worked hard on getting 99s and quest cape without GE. They were able to acheive their goal without it. With a new trade system the game will be easier and will ruin the value of some 99s cape. The game is good now and It doesn't need any changes. Stop making the game easier.
Question about the trading system and how it affects the wanted non-stated herbs when trading. I would like a solution to this that can be possibly integrated into the game. Instead of the many unid herbs there should just be one general herb stack this will reduce around 14 spots in peoples bank who have the unid version of the herbs to tell what they are. The herbs when id'd will assort themselves to any herb from level 1 to the players current herblore level or boosted herblore level when id'd by that player.
Here's a question I want answered. Do you guys actually enjoy what you have in front of you considering that trade is already made easy by a certain third party website?

How difficult would it be to take the trading post out of the game client and have it in the browser? Would it even be possible?
You could set a page up that we log in to and see our bank, from there we could post buy/sell offers. Would be cool to be able to manage my trades whilst away at work or travelling, from my phones browser.

That website isn't necessarily to make trading easy. It is the compromise needed for the lack of playerbase. The website simply makes trading POSSIBLE. Especially to us later GMTs.

Unid herbs don't work that way.

The devs wouldn't have the means or the time to do something like that
