About question #4: "Question: If we introduce the trading post should players be able trade items through it rather than having to meet up to trade through the existing trade system?"
What would then be the point of the existing trade system? I know there's a lot of people (not a vocal minority) that wants the G.E. to it's fullest, but just think about the current features and how G.E. affected those when it was first released:
The world center:
Varrock became the world center for all players to be in. If you went to a world, say with 20 players, there would
always
be at least 5 of them in the Grand Exchange or Varrock area. This kind of took players from other cities and put them in Varrock.
Falador park became vacant, Seer's village flax trading became vacant, Ardougne food sales became vacant, and Lumbridge rune sales became vacant. It literally turned those places into ghost towns compared to Varrock.
Now, why would this be bad, you say? Because people are bound to find themselves in those places as they do quests and train their skills, because the Gielinor map is pretty well balanced.
Examples: Varrock is good for rune essence mining and smithing, while Falador is good for mining and farming. Ardougne is good for thieving, and Seer's village is good for fletching. Catherby is good for fishing etc.
Now, if all those places except Varrock became vacant, then you'd have to travel to Varrock to say, sell your fish instead of Catherby, or you'd have to travel to Varrock to sell your herbs instead of Falador park.
However, when all of these different things collide, you'll have the spamfest that is today's Varrock (at least until Jagex sorted the auto-chat problem, thanks alot <3)
So my proposal is that if this were to pass, balance the map out again by placing these trading posts (yes, several) at strategic locations, who all have different items you can sell there.
Varrock trading post could still be a miscellaneous hub though.
Love, Evan!
