Why was the hunting knife changed?

It was meant to be like all the other weapons in that category; I'm afraid a guaranteed zero weapon is not something we were looking to install again, given the issues we've had with such things before.

What happened in the past with such a weapon? I'm curious and I can't imagine what issue could've arised in the past :(

People locking themselves in combat indefinitely, mostly. Didn't go down so well.

I figured suggesting every other update aside from the GE would be the best way to get it to pass but if it required no updates past some specific point in time I guess that would be okay. I just really miss bank sales and people trading without it being a scam 100% of the time and lots of other things.

You'd presumably need bugfixes, though. Not all bugs are in new content; we've spent a lot of time dealing with legacy issues from 2007 and before. Also, there'd need to be a lot of interest in something to warrant splitting the community like we did when we made OSRS. Like, there were a few hundred thousand players expressing interest in getting OSRS.

I really do wonder how many people would be interested in it. From the people I've talked about it to in-game and in cc's it seemed rather 50/50. Obviously it would require membership to play and wouldn't have bonds available to it. I'm really not sure if it could split the community, if there were only one available world to play it on it'd either be at 2k constantly or just near-dead. It'd be a absolute miracle if it were possible to do this without needing a whooole lot of work to do it.

Oh well, a man can dream.

But thank you for entertaining the idea! It really means a lot to me! <3

Appreciate the updates, but was surprised by the mention of the Crystal-Key finally working on the key-ring. It worked for me last week.

As always, thank you for the awesome content and attention to the player base.

This hasn't been suggested before. However why isn't the $10,000 Prize Pool Final Hour at the end of the SEASONALS?

Top 2k Total, get locked in with one day left. Server restarts and only the top 2k can log in. This gives everyone the last day to prepare for the final.

1. Gives everyone a fair chance, as they'll of had the whole seasonal to prepare and it won't just be who can play 20 hours a day for a week.
2. Keeps the seasonals thriving and a reason to actually play instead of getting top 2k then quitting.

3. No negatives really.

You could put it on the key-ring, sure, but it didn't open the doors while it was on there.

Hello I found the source of the scry pool kicking you out of your player owned house once you scry. This is if you're the only one in your POH you will be kicked out after viewing any scry location for a brief time. It seems people are needed for you to be inside your house if you wish to scry and return to your house. You can use other peoples' scry pools just fine , but if you are scrying with your own and are the only one in the house it will kick you out. You guys mentioned you were looking for the source. I submitted a bug report but I wonder if you guys know this yet. It'd be nice if you could fix. thanks!

I'm not a Jmod obviously, but after speaking to someone about it after testing it, it probably would require a lot of engine work. They would have to make the PoH stay rendered while you're the only one inside in order for it to be 100% consistent.

Yes, that's what I told the testers when they got a bug report about it.

Apparently there was some miscommunication - when we asked if a player was alone in their house when they experienced this, the player initially informed us that their mom was at home while they were playing.

As we can't make instanced areas stay open while no-one's in them, since the game may need the space for new instances to be created, I'm afraid this is unlikely to change.
