Yes I'm using the logs from the roots I can literally stand at the fire clicking constantly and by the time the boss is at 85% I haven't earned a single point from burning logs. There must be a limit of logs that can go in at a time, there are a lot of people.

So here my opinion about this Event:
5 games against wintertodt: Combat 90 , Hitpoints 73 Hits of wintertod 27 hp damage and the not so strong i must eat each 2 times a shark. I was cut tree , made potions, etc. not stopped to help!
2 games i got Dynamite and sharks ( raw) 3 games i got nothing!
I had for this games must eat more as 50 sharks and Thuna potatoes more as 25.

Keep your outfit, it costs me to much! I am completely disappointed.
With this hp and shark loss i can do much more as to get : "You are not worth to get a reward"

You cant spam click it or it wont work. Click once and afk it. You will stop burning logs when you take damage. If so re-click 1 time and repeat.

Get the Clue hunter outfit from crack the clue. you take less damage with that.

Skill bosses are different than combat ones, you need to learn how to beat it.

Give it a shot before you complain after first 3 attempts.

Zammy flames with the tome of fire would hit high 50's in PvP, think about that.
On slayer task it would even hit 65-70's.
