I don't use the Duel Arena, but I do occasionally hear about someone losing their bank over duel arena scams, so I know how much they can affect others.
These seem like effective solutions to common scams, particularly the "display inventory" option.

This option will make it impossible to use the common "hasta scam" - where players use a hasta in whip stakes to benefit from the defensive bonuses the weapon offers.
When trying to make every single fight 50/50 odds Jagex are always going to fail. If you want a gambling system which is 50/50 with no unknown quantities then just implement one into the game.
Staking was designed to be about skill but players have tried to change it into a crude gambling mechanism, changes made by Jagex to make that more so will fundamentally be band-aid fixes at best.
It's not scamming to use a hasta when staking. Staking is about killing your opponent to win the prize money, despite what some may consider fair game or not. If the hasta is superior to whips in every way, then every player would use a hasta in every single stake. The reality is that there are counters to every move, if some stakers don't want to adapt in a fight, then they are going to lose. That's just PvP in RS.
What Jagex need to decide is whether staking should be 50/50 odds or if it should be based upon each players skill or not. The confused notion that all stakes are meant to be 50/50 odds is being reinforced by Jagex with threads like this which is exactly what got us in the mess in the first place. The original developers behind Duel Arena did not intend for 50/50 stakes but for it to be a place for players to fight each other where the better player wins.
Just admit that staking has evolved into a crude attempt at gambling and poll to implement a direct 50/50 gambling system for these players - that's if you truly wanted to remove this so called 'scamming' of course.

Before being a dishonest piece of garbage with hastas in the duel arena, please tell me besides RSC staking when staking was about skill? There's not really such a thing as a "good staker" there are smart stakers, lucky stakers, and dirtbags who try and cheat the mechanics to make the fight unfair.
It was never skillful to bang out 4 dds specs and switch to a whip. Amulet switching in classic was about as skillful as it got, and that's long gone.
Ever wonder why ice cubes taste so boring?
