Ex-DonationBF worker here addressing the blast furnace poll question:
It should NOT be added. Adding dwarfs that run the blast furnace on the official world does technically fix the issue of crashers, but it only makes blast furnace worse. The reason BF clans exist and want the blast furnace crashing problem fixed so urgently is because
1: We DON'T WANT TO LET BOTS PROFIT OFF OF PEOPLE RUNNING BLAST FURNACE and
2: We want people to have a completely reliable way of doing blast furnace for x amount of time.
Adding dwarfs that run w58 fixes issue 2, but makes issue 1 MUCH worse. How it currently stands is clans pick a "private" world to run a timed "shift" and everyone that is in the CC/that sees the advertisements goes to that world. Even with this, bots still get in and world hopping has to happen. If you allow people to pay the "official" world to run with 100% uptime, not only does it allow bots to run the game 24/7 and invalidate any "gold sink" your creating with the payment per hour cost, but it INVALIDATES THE ENTIRE POINT OF THE BLAST FURNACE.
Blast furnace was created to have players run it so players reward from it. If you're going to completely break the point of BF, then in the long run wouldn't it be better simply to either redesign the minigame or make an entire new one? Why have it create "artificial" players by paying GP when you could say, lock it behind some quests or diaries or something so it stays the minigame but requires work to use it? What you're polling for BF is similar to breaking Pest Control in a way where you can simply pay GP for your void armor. Completely breaks the design and intention of the minigame. Sadly locking it behind quests/diaries won't make it uncrashable, but allowing artificial players by paying a gp amount(no matter how small or big the amount, because of how easy it is for bot farmers to get into BF and make an insane amount of GP/hour) makes botting worse.
