To be completely honest, I don't like the idea of having a player council in Oldschool RuneScape. That sounds to me a lot like a "RuneScape government" or something. I do not believe a player council will be good for OSRS, not because of the idea itself as the idea *does* have the *potential* to be beneficial to the community, but because rather that the players that will be chosen to represent the community will only be popular streamers, YouTubers, stakers, and just basically every popular player that streams a PK/PVP video.
But do they really know about the game?? The game itself? Not the community. Not the colorful personalities within the game, but instead the actual game itself. I believe that to be able to understand the community fully, you must first understand every aspect and every part of the game and not just PKing, and doing streams for donations of IRL money. Having thousands of viewers on a video doesn't mean you fully *know* the community of RS.
For example, I was hanging out in the Hexis Skilling Clan CC and had quite a good debate on whether or not this could be a good addition to the game. Perhaps, a lot of the people thought in the cc, but they also did not want RS to be ran by PKers and streamers and ultimately the "popular" kids. I believe that the OSRS council would be ran better if it were by players who knew the game completely inside and out and have been playing for years and years.
I already have someone in mind, to be honest. He's ranked 3 overall on the highscores, and that's all I'm going to say. The council should be made up of people like this gentleman who knows pretty much every single aspect of the game Oldschool RuneScape. Not just some kid who is addicted to staking or PKing and only has viewers because the viewers want to ultimately see the kid lose his bank, or fail and rage in the Wilderness.
And that's my two cents. Others are, of course, always entitled to their opinions as well.
