Sorry I haven't read through all the previous posts, so if this is a repeat, my apologies.

It seems that the level of intensity would be higher if you were able to remove the dots of other players during the game. Just seems to "safe"...now if all players are blind to locations the only way to find them would be spotting from a distance. The area doesn't look to be that big, shouldn't be needle/haystack like.

Since the game is safe, there wouldn't be the fear of losing anything but the pot.

Here comes the clans that help their buddies get 1st and 2nd place and then split all the gold while farming ranks. It wouldn't take that many people working together to tilt a game

considering that the rewards are going to be less than the cost, how do you "split" all that gold?
frankly my dear, I couldn't give a dam. never had a river to build one on.

This just sounds like an improved version of the TzHaar Fight Pits...

We literally already have a minigame that serves the same purpose, except nobody plays it anymore.

There are some new concepts here, the fog and gathering equipment are interesting. How about we add these concepts into a re-done version of the fight pits instead (lava instead of fog?)

Here's an idea: how about forcing players to have to gather their own resources and make their own equipment, as opposed to picking up spawns?

Also, the giving everyone maxxed stats is a horrible idea. People should compete with the stats they have earned, otherwise, what's the point of the entire game?

How about we improve/repair existing dead content before replacing it with new stuff?

Given that you require exactly 25 people per game, and would need at an absolute minimum of 24 people per game to actually make this a cash sink (the numbers ensure 200K is taken out of OSRS every game, if you don't include the very first match, where 500K is taken out), you have two options:

1) Make the prize money/number of people who get tickets
scalable
, with a minimum number of people per game at something far more reasonable, long-term, such as 12/15.
or 2) Expect this mode to die out relatively quickly/forming an *extremely* small community, as time goes on. Casual players will lose their money, realise that they're wasting it all on this mode, and give up. Maybe play the free mode a few times, but then get bored due to lack of reward, and once again, give up. Those who are good at the mode may stay on, resulting in eventually games with just elite players, in a community of <<100 people. This community will not all be online at exactly the same time, making matchmaking absolutely impossible with an exact 25 player requirement (tried playing party games [gun game/one in the chamber etc.* on Black Ops I recently? If so, you'll understand the issue).

Even making matchmaking dependent upon your score will not help this mode's longevity, as the issue is still prevalent: if you finish in the bottom 20 in your first three, four, five games, you have already lost the better part of half a million coins from the main game mode. In what; little over an hour, perhaps? The incentive to continue at that stage [even if you're then playing against noobs] is minimal, as the chance of earning money overall, compared to losing it is very, very small as you play more games. With fewer lower ranked players, your score will then have little bearing on matchmaking.

I'll admit the game mode sounds fun to try, but segregating the community further still [ahem, DMM] to form an elitist, short-term metagaming community just isn't worth dev-time in my op

Lets assume a reasonably efficient clan. Not neccessarily the best pvpers in the entire game, but they are capable of holding their own, and know how to effectively pk as a group.

-A clan of 5 enters the game: automatically assumes 1/5th of the playing population
-As a significant percentile of the overall game population, they are capable of holding the best positions on the map, with relatively little challenge to them from any solo (or even duo/trio) players
-This team work together, and between them, ultimately win (let's assume that they get the first two positions, plus one other of the top 5 - 2/5 casualties seems reasonable for an effective pking clan)
-Total earnings: 2M gp prize - 500K entry + 1 ticket = 1.5M profit
-Next game, as before, and continue until bored
-Earning per game: 2M gp prize - 400K entry (ticket from previous game accounts for other 100K) = 1.6M profit
-Overall, splitting this evenly between the group, this is a profit of ~ 320K per person, per game
-As it is "last man standing", so the game will end upon the penultimate death, we can assume that a clan would be capable of clearing the rest of the field in significantly less time than is allowed (say, 15 minutes?)
-This would give a total of ~ 1.3M profit per hour, per person

Assuming that the number of people playing this game mode will reduce enormously as the hype dies down, and the good players are separated from the not so good (which it will - look at the deterioration of DMM, and even seasonals), it will become increasingly easy for players to matchmake with members of their own clan, and as such, organise this kind of scenario.

Of course, to make it easier (with reduced profits) more than 5 members per clan could also enter a game.

As it stands it is certainly very exploitable

there should be 2 mode

first one

and the second one, everyone has only level 1 stats in everything and you get 20x experience and you have to level up to be strong enough to kill people and the time will still be 20-25 mins and also for both games yours, and my idea they should have 2 min safe timers
