There are a few VITAL concerns that must be realized if this idea wants to be long term.

1. Teaming will happen, and will destroy this Mini-Game unless extreme measures are taken to restrict it.
-This includes removing chat, and even EMOTES... OSRS players are clever and will find ways to communicate if there are any options. (This Mini-game should be "Silent", which also adds very enjoyable suspense.)
-Names and character models need to be identical to prevent recognition of players.
-Players must be selected for games at random, maybe even from other worlds. (This will prevent large teams flooding waiting rooms hoping to be Que'd together, again... People are clever.)

2. Rewards for this Mini-Game (and all other mini-games) need to be potentially HUGE. The money reward is a great start, and should have tiers (10k / 100k / 1m). (REMOVE THE TICKETS)

More rewards need to be available based on rating, games completed, people killed, or perhaps Mini-Game currency (like NMZ points) that are awarded based on these above factors. (higher tier games (1m) should have more reward than 10k)
MOST IMPORTANTLY, whatever the reward system is, the rewards need to be not only Cosmetic, but PERISHABLE (armor/weapons that degrade, purchasing experience, or strait up armor / weapons / items that are tradeable!)
(NOTE Bounty Hunter - Emblems - LONGEVITY / SUCCESS)

Offering only Cosmetic / Titles as rewards (other than money) will only capture the desires of a small portion of the majority of players, resulting in eventual dead content.

Offer rewards to the top 5-10 players based on performance (1st, 2nd, 3rd should probably receive far greater rewards, but even average players that place 4th-10th should receive small rewards ( benefits of mini-game currency ) to give hope and eventual share of large rewards with persistence. This will allow the game to cater to a HUGE portion of the player base. -NOTE Dungeoneering - Sucess

Until I read the development blog I thought a good idea would be to use our own levels and skills and make 3 games as pest control works with the level of boats. If this was the case we could chop a tree and make bows/arrows as an example with the right map. Just a thought.

Even with these sorts of restrictions players could still use voicechat off of runescape to coordinate their efforts.
Don't forget – RuneScape members get TWO free spins a day instead of the usual one!

Sounds like a great idea but its not really that much of a gold sink.

Initially, we will see 500k being sunk every game however once these free entry tickets are shelled out, we will only see 200k being sunk from the game.

But hey, any gold sink is a good gold sink.

But what happens when 25 players use a free entry ticket. Surely that money will be generated and not from a pot that players in that match have put in?

There is no way to 100% eliminate the chance to be placed in a game with someone you know. But pulling random players in to each game from any random world would make the chances incredibly low! Its not about creating the "perfect" system, but an incredibly effective one. You could be in voice chat with your friend all day long and never get into the same game even once.

I think this is a great minigame idea!

The only thing I think they should change is players should keep their current stats. If everyone entering the game automatically got maxed combat stats, I think that really de-values/takes away from the players who have achieved maxed combat stats
