There's so much I dislike in this dev blog.

- It plays on the greed and dishonesty of players. A lot of players seem to think that with LSP and lootshare there will suddenly be more chance for them to get a fat drop. There is a lot of un-knowing in this thread. Decision making based on bad information is a true recipe for disaster.

- It's another update aimed at bossing. There's far too much emphasis on bossing already. Let's focus first on silly things like getting rid of rwt/bots or improving the firemaking skill, please.

- There is no current need for any lootshare system or LSP. If you have a few nice friends (or a nice clan) you can go bossing whenever you want. Over time, the rewards will even out for everyone. Why fix something that isn't broken?

- The entire concept of LSP has proven to be faulty. Why would you even consider bringing that rotten system into this game?
--LSP can be farmed so that it is no longer a fair deal at all.
--With decaying LSP, after a big fat drop all you have to do is wait a while and your chances are back to normal... which seems unfair.
--With decaying LSP, hardcore PVMers are pressured into bossing as long and hard as they can, to keep up the high LSP. Casual players will have reduced chances of getting any good drops.
-- With non-decaying LSP, farming LSP is an almost certain road to success. You can get high LSP and go to corp with a mass and ... which seems unfair.
-- In any form, LSP leads to manipulation and unfairness. Which is exactly opposite to what a lot of players in this thread expect 'lootshare' to do.

- Coinshare has led to so much direct coin injection in the past. Why haven't you Jmods ruled it out for eternity? Now there's still players that hope for coinshare, and would gladly vote for it if it's ever polled. It's a faulty system that should never ever make it into this version of runescape.

Unneeded, based on bad info in the community, with proven bad systems. Ewww.
Isn't it strange that so many players blindly apply to clans, without ever wondering why there are openings in that clan?

The MAJOR issue about this loot share option is GRIEFERS mostly bots...

Imagine* Corp with tons of 3 item bots trying to steal your kills for gold. Alot of bots are 100+ combat too from nightmare so it's easily possible to switch them from green dragons to go to corp and harrass us ..

PLEASE do not add this option at all. I can only see HUGE issues with it coming. If you don't trust the people you group with don't boss with them simple as that. Also please stop adding RS3 items into osrs the reason I quit in the first place. Next thing summoning will be in and i'll be quiting again.

Edit: We have MAJOR issues in runescape right now that need fixing.

The amount of bots I see are insane go to a f2p and go to any iron mine.... Go to any vendor that sells a item thats actually good like food and you'll see tons of bots. You guys need to rework the area these bots are botting or just plain and simply log in and ban them. Wines of zammy or white berries at lava dragons constantly botted both used to be decent gp for real players now crashed to hell by bots go to edgevill anvil or lumby castle for bow string bots. They even have slayer bots now destroying the slayer cave like come on you can't even play in there without a cannon in every room.

Just found this by now, thank god!

I am so excited about LootShare atleast...

CoinShare, I understand so many people's negative thoughts about it... But this was my favourite thing to do as it was always rewarding to go as a team to bandos and everyone would get something out of it! :D

Love it, please for god of lord accept CoinShare people :P

I've always loved the LootShare system at it used to be.
However I can understand the system needs some tweaking.
A bunch of replies on this topic seem to like a LSP system taking damage
into concideration.
Allthough I'm not a big fan of this idea I thought about an idea in which damage
could have effect on your LSP.
For example:

A four man team using lootshare get a 100m drop. Player A gets the drop.
Player B,C and D divide 100m of LSP. The percentages of the 100m are calculated by the amount
of damage you dealt (not counting the damage done by player A).
If player B did 50% of the damage he will get 50m LSP,
player C did 20% damage so he gets 20m LSP etc.

Coinshare would be great to get rid of some scamming. I would advise the same system RS3 has,
the shards system.

- Pretty much like LS being turned 'off'. Max hit takes the drop. The difference with actually turning LS off is that if a team crashes, then first the "group" with max damage gets drop. Then player who hits max damage in this group will get the drop.


Thoughts on this?
If you have disagreements, then kindly state your alternative proposal.


Basically we will have options on primary and secondary drops. I believe this will address everyone's concerns.

Yes to showing LSP but only to yourself and then people can decide whether to tell people or not. would be unfair to get it high then not be able to find team as others avoid you kinda defeats the purpose

A great way to fix who gets the loot would be to add up teams LSP and then get what percentage of that each person has (1 person has 20gp LSP and other 80gp so first person has 20% of collected LSP and second person has 80%) then roll a dice from 1-100, roll 1-20 and first person would get the loot and 20-80 second person would get the loot. Or Something along the lines of this would make things a lot more simple and a lot more fair.


and for coin share I have 2 ideas, simple one would be to have the item sold to the highest buyer at the time and if no one is buying at the time then the item will be dropped as per either who did most damage or by the lootshare implemented.

Second idea would be to just have all items put in the GE for 1gp as most high end items are always being traded I personally would not have a problem with this but im sure many people would not like this idea

So a lot of people hated coinshare for the fact that it was creating money out of essentially nothing; so what if that aspect were able to be fixed?

Rather than having the item put in at market value and dropping the equivalent amount of gp, why not have the item put in the grand exchange at the highest current buy offer so that it would be sold immediately with 0 creation of gp. And in the instance that there were no current buy offers for the item, then it would simply go to a random player NOT based on damage dealt.

And if the item comes in a stack of over 100 (like cannonballs from corp) then the item would simply be evenly distributed among the players. (It doesn't have to be 100 it could be any number, I just needed something to work with)

And as to the ones claiming that they get crashed with lootshare people doing the majority of the damage.... they did say they would have a proportionally accurate number of lootshare worlds to the players who wanted it, so if you don't want to get crashed, then don't go to a lootshare world(:

Overall (if done correctly) I will assuredly be voting yes to this poll

It's also worth pointing out (ignoring the crashing issues where LS teams have their damage combined), that LS has no real use.

We already have broadcasts when someone gets a drop to stop scamming - having a LootShare system that just gave Person X the drop rather than whoever did the most DPS doesn't prevent scamming any more than our current system.
