Because the actual act of necromancy itself isn't focused around combat, but more so summoning the dead to fight for you. Such a zombies, skeletons, etc.

Summoning things to fight for you with necromancy would push into the "Summoning" skill itself, which isn't approved by the community.

Teleportation is something necromancers could do, but most of them had no form of direct combat. In some variations they could shoot fire, but we already have that.

Why is melee still getting new weapons while mages and rangers do not? Mages have received no new weapons that's usable in PvP since GWD while this will make melee's 3rd weapon release.

We're still stuck with SoT* and Ahrim's as being our only viable equipment choices for 1v1 pking purposes.

Jad 2 is displaying melee bias as well. Mage/range is finally potentially receiving their firecapes, but they have to do a activity which will require far more effort for the same thing, while melee gets a upgrade to theirs?


I joined OSRS in hopes that jagex learned from their mistakes. The release of things like SoT*, blowpipe, ACB and trident, implied-at the time,that you guys have put aside your bias towards melee.

Yet, this recent trend of providing melee with more, more and more while giving mage/range pretty much nothing (unless it has tons of strings attached) shows how wrong I was.



Remove the mage damage bonus and range str from the mage/range capes, reduce the mage attack down to 10 and add a Ava's effect to the range cape. Then make them a reward for killing the regular Jad, since they are melee equivalents of the firecape. Make improved versions for Jad 2. (Same stats, except the damage boost and range str are re added)

Delay the dragon warhammer until mages and rangers can receive new weapon content. Melee has just gotten two entirely new weapons, they don't need a third. \

Believe magic to only be for support? Think again. It's just as valid of a Pking style as melee and range is.

To be fair, magic didn't get a buff in RS2 until Nex gear + Chaotic Staff. Until then, we have Ahrims + Staff of Light.

Rangers had Rune Crossbow until Nex and Chaotics, when we got better gear.

We're already the same we were back then with magic, and slightly better with Range having ACB and TBP.

Thats so dumb why cant we summon things to help us fight with the necromancy book. It's not even close to how summoning was. Man so many players are too damn sensative. Plus THATS WHAT NECROMANCY IS! Summoning the dead to help you.

The Poly dungeon was well after Nex/Dungeoneering though, wasn't it? I can't recall the year.

EXACTLY what I just said like 4 posts up; but the community doesn't want summoning and I'm honestly indifferent about it. It has it's nice perks but all in all it did make things really easy.
