couple points:

1) I agree, noobs that are starting the game, will get like 100k free gp , cuz of the rares being horded atm, so its unfair to still give them away, as you've said, they are getting to valueble

2) People had 3 years to get rares now, and they are still very cheap, so making them disc, would give everyone the chance of owning multiple sets, without problems.

3) The original game had rares, jagex made a dirty move by not disc rares from the day they were released, and then polling if they shouldnt be discontinued but randomly available, and released every year. if the poll would have been conducted that way, 68 % would have voted NO, to change it. It was the first hudge mistake, and the only mistake so far, they did a great job so far, and they have a chance to set things straight.

Sincerely

1) They're not rares in OSRS. This isn't RS3, the economy is different.

2) This will be the first year these items will be available to ironmen, who have no other way to obtain these items.

3) Again, this isn't RS3, things are different.

Only 'rare' are partyhats cause of good amount of clans that merc* them every rare. There the only items that will cost you 150k+

Looks great :D

Please DO NOT discontinue giving the rares every year, it's not fair to new accounts (yes, there are actually new accounts, I convinced my friend to start playing) and everyone deserves the chance to own the holiday items.

I understand that many players want to up the "status" of the holiday items by making them unavailable, but like some people have said before me, this game is different from RS3.

I'm glad Jagex isn't removing holiday items. They were never meant to be rare, they were meant to be fun. With how many are now in the game, it's too late to discontinue them, you'd be giving merchers too much control of the economy. The blue phat situation is bad enough as is.

I don't seem to understand why players are having problems with the pets. All pets as of now require you to be a high level player to obtain, due to the insane skill requirements to kill most of those monsters, plus tacking on that fact that they're an extremely rare drop.

The only option an average player has for a pet is a cat, which is kind of lame. Yes, I understand that some may be annoyed from seeing the new pet everywhere, but that's going to be something that will die down overtime, just like anything that gets too popular.

It's almost as if most players deny content unless it's from some high level boss or if it's worth a lot of money. What about new content for mid-level/all players? Content shouldn't be singled out to the wealthy and powerful. This is the mindset that caused sailing to fail.
