Hey so me and my friend where talking about deadman..

you can only protect 2 combat skills??? So you have to protect hp and mage or range or youll die and not have enough hp anymore and could potetially go to 10 hp with 99 mage and have to train it all over...

50% loss on a death seems WAY to harsh.

unless of course...
The person who kills someone GETS THAT XP

I mean losing a full inventory of your best items in the bank is harsh enough, dont you think losing 50% of your xp is even harsher? da heck

So

RISK:
loseing 28 items in the bank
loseing 50% xp

REWARD:
getting 28 items

**h... I think were missing something here.
It seems that the risk is higher than the reward

& 5x xp really isnt that much

I hope you guys take the grind game out of runescape so we can get to actually playing the game
or what pkers see the game as
GET PAST THE GRIND TO ACTUALLY PLAY

For those who fall behind or start late: I feel that the 28 item loss from bank can get players in the situation where they can not get back onto their feet. I propose that the number of items that can taken is (combat level)/3. For every 3 combat levels you gain, you risk another item to be taken from your bank, and by the time you hit combat level 84 you are open to losing all 28 items. Makes sense from a risk vs rewards standpoint and helping in getting people back up to speed after an unfortunate series of item and stat loss.

It also makes sense that HP xp is automatically protected for all and not counted in the 5 protected stats.

This is sort of what I'm thinking. I know 'Deadman' is supposed to be difficult to say the least, unforgiving and harsh and the lean is for it to be a survival premise. While I like the idea, I think the price of death is too high. It seems like it would be unplayable. I can't imagine how you would actually get any skilling done let alone risking half your xp just to go for a better resource, nevermind your 28 best tradables.

I've been playing Darkscape a lot (and really enjoying it honestly, which surprised me) and still, I die in Darkscape, a lot. My KDR is horrible. Most of my deaths are just doing regular things - travelling, skilling, standing in the bank occasionally. Even if you take down an attacker, there's a good chance there's another right behind them while you're out of food...

Maybe I'm just not picturing it right but getting your bank looted so hard and losing half your xp every death seems over the top, especially for new players or late starters. After my fourth or fifth death I can see me just getting fed up with xp and support loss and sticking to Darkscape, and I barely like RS3

I was super excited for Deadman until I realized it's not actually the Oldschool Darkscape. Maybe I just don't get it yet, but I'm concerned it wont be fun like DS is.

That said, maybe I just can't see how the game and mentality will develop under those constraints. I really like Darkscape because you're forced to look at things differently. Based on the initial or on changing constraints, the game has a different trajectory and that's part of what makes it so fun! Hopefully the constraints of Deadman will make the game extremely different and hard but still fun in its own right. Maybe the emergent gameplay of Deadman will make it more playable than I'm able to imagine at the moment. But just based on the sheer amount of times a player is likely to die doing regular things in one of these anarchistic game modes, I don't know if 5x xp will offset that, or how people will recover from the constant loss of wealth - especially if you love PVP but aren't very good at it yet.
