So is this planned to be an overlay like Ironman Mode or will it have it's own server/world? Are you really considering turning the entire game into nothing more than pvp? That's what this sounds like to me. "Nothing in all the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity" -Martin Luther King Jr.

Just giving my opinions/suggestions for each of the bullets listed in the OP.

• PvP will be enabled everywhere on the map.

* Safe zones will be created in cities and villages. Any player who enters these safe zones when skulled will be attacked by high level guards (and they will kill you).

Obviously good, given they are what the mode revolves around.

• When you die you will lose 50% of your XP.

The XP loss seems like it will have a huge effect, given the XP curve is exponential. However, I dont expect people to be dying constantly either. The penalty could be slightly lower.

• You can protect up to 5 skills at a time so you don’t lose any XP in these skills. (limited to 2 combat skills only)

I'm assuming that HP counts as a non combat skill (or is protected automatically). It might actually be better to make it auto-protected just because of how much it would mess up characters as opposed to any other skill.

• When you are killed by a player, they will be able to raid your bank for one inventory worth of items.

Everybody wants to know how this would work in full (EX stackable items, where you access it), given how important it is.

In my opinion, you should be able to take a percentage of stackable items, and other things like food take up seperate spots.

Also, what happens if a player gets a key? Do you automatically have access to the bank? Do you need to go to a bank? What if a player is fast enough and takes items out?

• You will be able to insure your items so they can*t be raided, however if you die when wearing them they will automatically drop on the floor.

This is nice, just so you dont die while skilling and all of your rare/expensive gear is stolen. There should be a limit on ensured items, though.

• You will receive 5 times the XP you normally would.

Who told you that you could read this?

I have not read all 39 pages of this blog but i do really like the idea, i just have 1 thing that you might what to think about and things that i think should be implemented into the new mode.

Firstly: There needs to be a way of implementing rares into the new mode, if you ask me i would make the rares kill-streaks for few weeks. This would be a good idea i believe because it would encourage Pvp and this is one of the main reason of the mode and it will reward the people that are doing this.

Players play using their existing accounts... on a Deadman server . So you kill someone, get skulled... and hop worlds, or log out, later logging in to a regular world. I can see problems here. (And they're going to improve their network to eliminate the DDoS problem first. But won't bigger DDoS attacks eventually be tried?)

But if people had to have Deadman accounts instead, then the complaint about fragmenting OSRS would have more validity. And in that case, people starting out as new players, after Deadman had been in existence for a while, would have little chance.

Since Legacy combat, at least, tends to be preferred for PvP, and due to the different competitive nature of OSRS, maybe Deadman does belong here, but has putting it in RS3 instead been considered, because then it would be offered to a larger pool of players?

In any case, with Deadman as a type of server, rather than a type of account, for many players the question would simply be, why visit that server - it seems all risk and no benefit. (OK, there's getting XP at 5x the rate...) A high scores mechanism is noted, and that would offset that... but maybe "half your XP" is just too much. But maybe not for the adventurous players who are interested.

It will be a bigger trading hotspot than Varrock due to no one completing Gnome Village for tree teleports because it may risk their bank.

I don't see how this applies, since if people complete the Gnome Village quest on a regular server, wouldn't they still be able to use the Spirit Tree network on the Deadman server as well?

OK, people go to Varrock or Falador to smith, then hop to the Deadman server, then hop out after smithing at 5x experience. Will that be how this gets used? Of course, despite the guards, then that'll be camped...

Seriously doesn't anyone read the original post? You may use your account to access OSRS & Deadman Mode (also Eoc btw). ONE account, DIFFERENT servers.

You start deadman mode on a clean server as a lvl 3, just like everyone else. Actions on the deadman servers do not affect your character on OSRS or EoC servers.

Please read it before you comment on it... Playable on existing accounts, but you would start clean, like having seperate characters, like rs3 to osrs

I did read the original post, but I thought 'different servers' meant different worlds in the same way as they do for eoc. So you would hop worlds to Deadman like you would to a Legacy Mode Only world or a Stealing Creation world over in RS3.

If Deadman is instead like OSRS, same login account, but separate character, then the issue that people who join after day 1 are at a major disadvantage is present.

1x xp or 2x xp in safezones would be nice as there are too many safezones people have another choice of risking their xp or supplies for faster xp rates and how will it work regarding mule accounts? surely people can very easily put all items and gear onto another account and trade over what they are using at that time? and will you be able to protect a stack of items at a time?
good idea though, will probably hop over from rs3 if certain improvements are made. One last point is how are quests going to work, are you safe while talking to NPCs during the quest and is there an immunity timer after fighting a quest boss?
