There are a number of you that are asking why we are we polling the questions. The reason is because from the previous thread there were as many people saying not to touch as there were saying to change it. This shows us that the decision is not straight forward and as such the decision should be with the right people, the community. The results of the poll will tell us what the community feels.


But why require 75% for a nerf? You added the best magic & melee training place without a poll, shouldn't 75% be required to keep it?

The update wasn't intended to be what it has become, but that doesn't mean that we should change it for that without letting the community have their say. That is the whole premise of Old School. As you can see from the posts in this thread, there is a disagreement with what should be done and the right people to make the decision is you.

This kind of sucks because the majority of players who already abused and got their free afk levels are going to vote to nerf this XP. They already got theirs, and they want to keep themselves at the top, so this poll is kind of skewed.


I haven't done nmz, and I'm going to vote for the nerf.

A few people got their xp, and that's unfortunate for the rest of us, but it's by no means a reason to keep it the way it is. That would be like saying, "The boat is taking on water, but there's no reason to plug the hole because there's already water in the boat."

I don't think you're recommending keeping nightmare zone insanely easy experience, but it was a possible sequitor to your comment.

It's very clear that the community is completely divided on this issue. There's a slim chance that a 75% approval threshold will be met for a nerf, even though the nerf returns NMZ back to what was originally intended and passed by the community. Would you consider nerfing NMZ even without the 75% threshold, which in this case is an extremely high threshold?

Dharoks @ MM monkeys (guards) is like 150k/hour with dharoks, maybe more and there is a prayer altar so you don't use money there either..

Mat's magic rates are way off, you definitely don't get 160k magic xp afking lol. More like 100k afking with a team and about 50-60k solo. 160k/hour is probably using a lurer which isn't afk.

Mat already said that they were making it so if you want magic xp in nmz you will have to use your own runes, so the cost is a pointless argument now.. But I agree with you.


150k/hour at the altar monkeys? Either that's including hp xp or is bs. Probably both... The very pro players get 180k str xp/h at NMZ in a team, so NMZ is still better...

Yeah, NMZ is the best training place. Doesn't have to be a genius to figure that out.
180k str/xp at nmz? lmao.. Yeah no. Maybe if you use D2H (or as i've heard lately, gmaul?) you can maybe get those xp rates, but that's down to the powerup that restores your special not the training method itself.

It's a poll asking whether you want nmz to be changed to A) give runes free, but no xp or B) give xp, use your own runes I believe. A majority vote, not a yes/no 75% vote. I may be wrong but that show I read it.

As for the numbers that were used, those were all taken from the information that was sent to us. I don't doubt that they are not wholly accurate, but they still highlight the major issues that the community seem to have which is the cost of mage training and afking.


If that is the case the need for the nerfs should be 50%+ not 75% though since that would be favouring the people against the nerfs by a lot

This question is flawed. It should say that the activity timer will only log you out of the game in NMV. I can see people voting no bc they think this will affect the rest of the game too.
