There used to be a rumour that higher-level spells were more likely to splash off. This is not true; your accuracy with magic is not affected by your choice of spell.

Lmao didn't everyone start magic stakes with a shadow barrage in pre-eoc rs and then switched to blood barrage when you weren't full hp anymore? and people used blood blitz when their opponent had really low hp

I still remember meeting someone in RS Classic who'd taken off all his armour to fight guards because he thought he'd get more Hitpoints XP if he took lots of damage. Quite a dangerous strategy in a game where you can't run away for 3 rounds of combat.

Could personalized shops work with the Old School game engine?

I think there's no trouble about a player-specific inventory that restores over time towards its default stock. The trouble is that the 2007 engine would do it only while you're logged in. A proper player-specific stock system ought to restore over time while you're offline.

Quite a lot of the changes to shops were originally made for the trade limit update in 2008, and were very unpopular at the time.

For what it's worth, we can make shops sell packs of 100 items - or even more - if you're having trouble getting resources at the moment. We did it for vials and feathers.

Thanks for the info, I'm not having trouble getting things if I need them, I was more interested in preventing shopping bots from getting things to sell for their RWT site masters and undercutting legit players on prices while they do it.
Ha ha, made you look ;)

Don't worry. Jagex have already admitted it was a mistake to sacrifice our gaming experience to combat bots and from my impression, they've certainly learnt their lesson and won't mess up our gaming experience again.

That's why it can be worth making packs of items. If legit players can buy ample supplies of the items without spending all day at it, there's less benefit for the botter.

Hmm...seems like a good enough poll to me, bar the special attack bit.

Seems too OP, especially considering it would encourage ragging.

I really wish we could have poll for the Grand Exchange, I think a lot of the community would support it.

Let's imagine for a minute that we polled the GE, here and now, today...

There's a lot of people who'd vote against it, for a whole variety of reasons. In every "GE pl0x" thread, there's a "no to GE" response.

Now, we could take a bit of time to identify something that more people would support. Maybe a trade system that lets you find a trade partner without having to spam all over Varrock, but keeps the personal interaction of the 2007 trading.

Suppose it passed anyway. We wouldn't actually be able to deliver it right off. We'd have to wait until the game engine team is going to be available for a big project like that, and schedule it in. This might not be a big wait, or it might turn into another Routefinding update where you wind up waiting months. We couldn't predict.

Anyway, since it's going to be a big job, and potentially a long wait whatever happens, we may as well take the time to work with the community and try to make something that'd get strong support rather than just falling back on copying the GE "because that's what RS3 did".

I expect we'll be putting together some kind of survey to gauge opinions properly. At the moment it's all a bit anecdotal with some people asking for the GE and others hating it.
