While attempting to do a task for the Fremennik Easy Tasks, to craft a tiara from scratch in Relleka, I was unable to complete it.
I mined the ore from the Relleka mine, smelted the ore into bars at their furnace, and used it to create the tiaras as well.

Is there something I'm missing?

I am doing the Varrok diary and I spun a clay bowl, I got the message that I had done stage 1 in my chat in blue text, when I fired the bowl the Diary did not update and the task is still incomplete.

I filed a bug report but I'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem?

I just identified the rusty sword @ merchant, didn't update.

Be sure that you get to the end of the dialogue after the sword is identified. We will be fixing this.

You need to talk to Thorodin south of Rellekka to start the diary before you can complete tasks. @JagexRonan
