Barbarian Assault

Inherently, Barbarian Assault is a good minigame, but the challenge lies in finding a team to take part in it. This should be improved by the matchmaking system, but there are still some more changes that you would like to see.

Should we allow players to use the egg launcher in Barbarian Assault while in combat?

When the call changes in Barbarian Assault, should we change the colour of the word to white?

Should we add fighter legs to the Barbarian Assault reward shop?


You're right, Barbarian Assault is a good minigame and it is difficult to find a team nowadays. Mainly because the price-on-death of torso was dramatically raised meaning no one loses their torso so no one needs to come back and get it again.

Yes you should allow us to use the egg launcher while we're in combat. At the moment it can sometimes be difficult to shoot at the queen in wave 10 because every time you get hit by her, or her spawns you can't open the shooting interface or the combat closes it.

Yes, when the call changes in Barbarian Assault the colour of the call you need to make should change to white. This will mainly be helpful for the newer players as it will be easier to see when they need to call.

As for penance legs, it could be a 45 defence requirement with similar defence bonus to Granite legs. Also it could have either attack bonuses similar to the fighter hat, or a +1 strength bonus (as previously stated it would be stupid for them to have +2). As for their looks they should be the same colour as torso really. Seeing as the Fighter torso is a hollowed out Penance Fighter chest, the Penance legs should be the hollowed out legs of a Penance Fighter, right?

I also think you should strongly consider adding the Penance Trident and the Penance Horn into the rewards as well. These were added into the game 19th January 2010 but I think both of these items would be very much appreciated by everyone.

theres just so much crap on this developer blog that theres just to much to process in my mind what to even say.. this is out of hand this is to much.


Seriously if you have nothing to add to this thread, simply don't post.

This thread is a way for Jagex to tackle all or most minigame issues, if they polled each minigame changes separately we'd be discussing this for months.

I'm concerned the fighter legs will heavily devalue tassets. Make them rune legs defensively with a +1 strength bonus. There is a lot going on in this poll, I got a lot to digest o.o


Why do you think Bandos chestplate is far cheaper than tassets? However bandos has far more defense bonuses and actually is quite appealing to the eye.

I really hope these aren't the questions you plan on polling.

All of the questions to make CW tickets significantly easier to get would completely devalue the game.

Should you receive one ticket for each enemy flag that you deliver to your castle's standard stand?

Two people in any empty world could just farm this for hours and get 15+ tickets each game. The tickets should be given out to everyone on a team based on which team won, not who was the highest level\got to the other teams banner first.

Should 10% of your kills be translated into tickets at the end of each game?

Higher levels would just run around with barrage and kill people\lower levels for tickets. It completely changes the point of the game which is to score points for your team to win, not just run around killing people.

No offense, but did you even think these through or just hear it and think "yea that sounds good" and put it in the topic? Don't mess with the castle wars tickets at all, maybe add some additional rewards like the banners but don't change the rate at which tickets are given out. Castle Wars is by far my favorite minigame, as it is for many people, and I do want to see it active again but completely devaluing the game\rewards with these updates won't make it active and will only put people off from playing it.

Just a few thoughts on the Blast furnace Mini Game.

I feel that a bank up there would be very overpowered and would only help the current batch of bar making bots who are already in the level 90's and inhabiting some of the top 100 spots on the highscores.

Reducing the smithing requirement will only mean more bots running and ruining this game.

No bank and keep the 60 requirement in place.

Now, How to Improve the game to make it more useful to others and attract teams?

Give Ordan the ability to un note ores via the same dialogue that was given him after the store and shop updates that came with the trade limits back in 2008.

This will allow players to un note ores and coal without risking other players (and bots) buying the noted coal or ores that they just sold so that they can convert them to un noted ores for use in the furnace.

Second thing, rather than reward players with direct exp in the other skills for making repairs or operating a station, grant tokens that can be exchanged for exp in the related skill of their choice, be it smithing, strength, crafting, firemaking or agility and rather than only a few smithing exp for assisting other to make bars grant 1 smithing exp per every bar that some one else completes when you are running one of the stations, currently we only get about 2 or 3 exp in smithing no matter how many players are using the furnace or how many bars were made whislt we were helping them.

You could also grant 1 token per bar made that are not your own bars rather than exp, bars you make will behave as they have always done giving normal exp.

Tokens would be the same amount as the exp was previously, repairing a broken pipe would give 50 tokens, running the peddles would give 2 tokens per tick rather than 2 exp per tick and the same would go for the bellows, rather than 2 exp per pump you would gain 2 tokens, and 5 tokens for each spade of coke rather than 5 firemaking exp and would be exchangeable for 1 exp each.
