i was perfectly content with just looking through banks and forum posts for things. but the trading post is to me a good update and it already has made the game so much more easier than it should be since it gives you the name, time and world there and then. the rest is spending a minute meet someone. it is pretty much perfectly in the middle.

to the people saying you need ge. go back to rs3. a ge shouldn't be introduced at all to cater to your inability to go spend a measly amount of time to meet another person. that games pointed you in the right direction. quit asking for someone to hold your hand there.

Realize that RS3 is most different in terms of the combat system, NOT the trading system.

Actually the trading systems in both games are completely different at the moment. Nobody trades manually in rs3 anymore. All GE does it make manual trading obsolete, saving lazy people time, making the game easier (which I thought was something oldschool strived to prevent).

The trading systems are indeed different, however that is not why most people stopped playing RS3 for OSRS - an official poll showed that.
In addition, the only reason why this version of the game does not have a GE is because of a lack of resources on Jagex's part. If they did have every version of the game saved, I'm sure they would have picked just before the EoC update which would have included the GE.

If the GE or anything that functions like the GE passes or is even offered to be voted on, this game's over for me. I can't believe the GE was even offered as an update, did you guys not learn from last time? We are literally going down the same route as RS3, sure you may be asking us for a poll but the whole point of Old School Runescape was for it to be and REMAIN different from RS3. What sets Old School Runescape apart are things like this and it's GRAPHICS, WEAPONS, ECT. STOP offering the same things from RS3, it's so frustrating. I don't mind the Trading post WITHOUT the technical capabilities of the RS3 GE. It was ridiculous how prices were manipulated in RS3 when the GE came out due to it's convenience. It shouldn't be that big of a problem to have to work just a little to get your trade done, the people that don't like it can go play RS3 Keep things SIMPLE AND DIFFERENT from RS3 and this version will continue on. Simple as that.

I agree with you that most people stopped playing rs3 because of the combat; however, given the choice between G.E. or not having G.E. in oldschool, I would choose against it. Having seen it's effects in RuneScape 3 even before EoC, it is not the path I (personally) want OldSchool to take.
