I'm well-informed of the release of the Grand Exchange.

Regardless of the release date, one of the primary reasons of implementing OSRS was to satisfy older players' longing for a pre-GE gameplay.

Thanks!

Here's my opinion of an ideal trading post:

Only person buying has to be at trading post location; ie. banks/Falador Park/Varrock West. However, they can be in any world. Then allow them to send a trade offer to the seller where they can view anywhere and sell the item(s) for cash as long as the item(s) are in their inventory. That way you could for example be slaying while a trade offer pops up then you could run to a safe spot and sell your item(s).

Cheers!

I would be happy with a fully functioning GE, sending trade requests through the post, or automatic trading. They all seem like great options each with their own benefits and downsides.

Sorry for not being specific, but I will enjoy this game equally regardless of having the current trading post or a fully functioning GE. Thanks OSRS team - you guys have done a great job!

dont turn this into GE, dont add offline trades!

1.
" wow, it's so social trading a person, putting coins in a trade and saying thanks then walking away."

yes, small acts of gratitude and meeting other ppl is good for socializing because you interact with other players. It makes game fell allive.

2.
offline trades will greatly increase number of offerts leading to lowering prices for common items. Good if you buy things bad if you are selling things, it will turn into repeat low content for many hours just to buy 1 good item.
offline trades = bad for new players

3.
trading without ge have oldschool fell it is something that make game different than many other games on market.

4.
Not intorducing fully ge will not scare new players.

_______
Please dont add offline trades!

It doesn't mater if you buy items from AI or real player in GE. With actual system where you have to meet other players you have unique feel of meeting other person, adding GE will remove it. Bringing 2007scape one step close to alone xp grinding instead of mmo.

To all the neigh sayers out there,
if you're really so confident that automatic trading whilst offline is such a bad idea..
Why dont you tell that to all the other MMORPGS out there, that their trading system is crap, and than we'll see who's laughing.
Runescape is not different, and the main reason that jagex are 'forcing' different trading solution on us is because they know its a basic update that is very much needed.

Besides i bet they had a good long laugh back when GE was polled and failed, cause truth to be said, neigh sayers are the ignorant people in this discussion.

OSRS wasn't to satisfy pre-GE gameplay it was to satisfy PKing and old style combat. The GE makes that easier so I'm all for it, and I have CLEARLY been around a while, as opposed to some of these 2014 memberships that claim they know all about how it was in 2007*

** that removes your offers while you're offline would be fine though!
