There's great craftsmanship in the Trading Post. The integration into trading screens is brilliant. However, something fundamentally huge is obviously lacking.
Primary to drumming up business for a trade is communication. Player interaction is critical. We talked about this to no end. Having to meet up, yes, but not simply posting things in the GE and then having to meet up because it's a very limited GE.
Since **bez has proved so popular I can't fault you for keeping true to the item-specific manner of posting offers. You've used game mechanics that they simply don't have access to, making the system even more accurate in that respect. But without a space for "additional information" there is no way to communicate the terms of my offer.
Suppose I'm mining pure essence in Yanille and I'll sell it cheaper than normal to players who meet me at Yanille bank. If I use the Trading Post I'll just have players pm'ing me and asking why I'm not at V-west where they are. It's because I hate that place and I refuse to go there without charging more. The V-west mentality flattens the dynamics of trade in this game and I had hoped the Trading Post would endorse diversity instead of acting as though we voted for a very limited version of GE.
