GE was an OK update, but it was broken from the day it was launched. The reason it was brought in was to eliminate free trade, and that's why it is so messed up from day 1. And I say this as someone who made billions flipping f2p items on the GE.
The "GE price" concept is a terrible idea. It's slow to update, and it just begs to be manipulated. The buy and sell limits that they put in to try to stop price manipulation only made it worse.
To this day, you still can't see what the actual buy and sell offers are. The RS3 folks are so bad off that they actually maintain a thread on the forums to let people know the actual prices for phats / masks / santas because the GE price is so inaccurate.
No, the GE is the last thing I want to see in OSRS. The trading post concept is a much better place to begin. I just hope that it will eventually allow for:
1. Trading without meeting up.
2. Buy offers to be entered.
3. Offers to remain up while you are offline.
If they ever un-nerf the trading post, I will have to go back to my main for a bit to try it. For now, I see no reason to stop playing my ultimate ironman acct.
And have you guys thought about adding a trading post type thing to RS3? I am totally serious.
